On 25 October 2018, the Taliban confirmed that Pakistan released Mullah Baradar.[32] He was subsequently appointed to be the chief of the Taliban's diplomatic office in Doha, Qatar.[33] Washington special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad claimed that Mullah Baradar was released at the request of the United States.[34]

Agreement signed

In February 2020, Baradar signed the agreement on the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan on behalf of the Taliban.[35]

It has been declared that Baradar became the president of Afghanistan following the overthrow of the government of Ashraf Ghani by the Taliban in August 2021.[36][37][38]

It's early but clues are starting to stack up. Baradar, the new president of Afghanistan fought against the Northern Alliance which is another way of saying he fought against the Bush/Cheney Kabal. Baradar was freed and signed a peace agreement during the DJT regime. And so far the Pashtuns just want to be peaceful, ride merry-go-rounds and bumper cars. Kabul has been freed from the Kabal. Time will tell.
