Classic stall, rolled and turned towards the the burning wing. They likely had the left engine slammed full throttle trying to maintain altitude.
Sad, I don't care if they were Russian, they knew they were going to die.

U.S. Air Force, I fixed the plane moving HRC's uranium, figured it out years later based of the dates of my orders. That and after standing on top of a crate for hours flipped up the plastic to find it was a crate and forklift with radiation placards warning you to keep your distance.
There's more to this story but I'd be doxxing myself. Let's just say the shipping label wasn't vague regarding the contents or the To:From.

It was being returned to DoE, I actually don't.know where we landed, things got weird after we declined an offer to ride home on the plane. Crew apparently didn't realize enlisted folks could read.
We were ultimately ordered to fly back with the cargo, and treated like criminals upon landing.
