Intentionally creating the conditions to call for another lockdown?

Oregon Squanders federal money to maintain hospitals, and has lost 5,000 beds since March 2021. Yamhill County Commissioner Mary Starrett pushes back.

"We were told that there aren’t enough beds, and nursing staff is overwhelmed and “exhausted”.

Let’s look at why that might be:

Oregon ranks at the bottom of the list for hospital beds with 1.7 per 1000 people.

Compare that to North Dakota with 4.8 per 1000.

Currently Oregon has 5k fewer beds than in March. That’s a reduction of 40%.

Why?

Oregon was provided federal dollars to increase hospital capacity years ago. It never happened.

The Governor responded to my question by saying: “ It was intentional…Oregon has focused on prevention rather than hospital capacity”.
