Puglisi was put on administrative leave last December 1 and fired three days later, along with the non-profit’s director of financing and accounting – who was Puglisi’s direct supervisor – and internal auditor.

Federal authorities found Puglisi’s many unauthorised purchases included payments to women on an interactive adult website.

To cover his tracks, he doctored journal entries to make it seem the charges were related to the non-profit’s business, the court records state.

At least $11.5m of the stolen funds went to adult website mygirlfund.com, according to university auditors Protiviti’s report.
