If the narrative is what has always protected evil then I wonder how it will be possible to maintain the dispersal of true information in future, as I believe it would be in their best interest to continually 'taint the information waters' by using the available tools within whatever time frame they are in. Deepfakes, Nonsensical injections by AI, forgery. Who knows what else will be available in future. I can see us running into problems such as CGI being so good, it will be impossible to distinguish from reality which could be used to push 'evidence' of false events which never happened.

 

Part of me thinks the solution involves blockchain or other similar technologies which work on systems that can't be modified. Technology is moving so fast though that I can't imagine how it won't be a constant battle, rather than an ultimate solution. I remember reading somewhere that the price of freedom [and in this case, of information] is eternal vigilance.
