I don't know where this perception that Australians are hard asses or whatever comes from. The dangerous animals? This is massively overblown.
If you've never lived here you can't have any idea just how nannified people here are.
You cannot do anything here without having to appeal to some government department.
You can go for a walk at night and see the glow of a television in every household.
Mass non-compliance will never happen here - only appeasement in the hope it all goes away. How many parents just offered up their children for sacrifice doing exactly this?
