"I personally know several administrator level teaching staff in WA state. There are emails between State Superintendant Chris Reykdal and local school admins that hundreds of teachers quit today after the news that COVID-19 vaccinations will be mandatory for all K-12 teachers in the private and public sectors. The deadline to begin vaccination procedure is October 8th, otherwise the school will terminate the teacher.
These resignations and probable firings are happening during a severe staffing shortage in public schools. One superintendent told Reykdal that based on the number of teachers that resigned, they will have to close their school district. Other superintendents pleaded that their class sizes will increase to 40 or more due to resignations and that parents have already pulled their students out of public school due to class sizes, representing major losses in funding that can't be made up.
Meanwhile, the Catholic Diocese of Spokane sent out an email stated that they have begun negotiations with WA State as they do not intend to force their school employees to get vaccinated."

"Mom works as a school bus driver here in western WA, roughly a quarter of the drivers are unvaxxed and have no intention to, despite the district threating to fire them if they don't. They are criminally understaffed as is and it takes months to train a bus driver so if they go through with firing them it would be an absolute nightmare for the schools what would be bombarded with angry parents who rely on the bus to take their kids.
I work for a rather large private christian school and all of the administration is vehemently antivax and will not require teachers/kids to get the vax no matter what the state says."
