it’s the 3rd of 4 full moons we can expect to see this season.

but in the rare event that 4 of them in one season occur;

the Blue Corn Moon makes its appearance.

Hence, the saying, “Once in a Blue Moon” — the more you know!

Blue Corn Moon will first appear on the night of Saturday 21-August before

reaching peak illumination at 8:02 AM Eastern Time on Sunday, 22-August.
