We have a very old Ipad, like 5 years old. It has an alarm that goes off in the morning. Normally when the alarm goes off, you press the power button, then it gives a choice between "snooze" or "turn alarm off".

Now, our power and internet were off overnight because of storm damage in our area. The alarm came on this morning, I pushed the power button on the Ipad, and it didn't give me a choice between snooze and turning the alarm off. Instead it showed a message I've never seen before, "Siri not available."

WTF? We've never turned on Siri, we don't want Siri, we've tried to exclude all such stuff from our house.

Well that's a redpill for me. Background process always running. As long as that's running, why not record the sounds it hears "just in case it's needed later".
