From last bread with links to hospital capacity, numbers. That’s what most of our local news is reporting, hospitals are full, out of beds, etc. Hospitals are designed to run/work at near capacity. Like it or not, healthcare is a business. You’re most efficient, and profitable when you are full and properly staffed.

Wife anon is a doctor. A few years ago during the 2017 flu season she was in residency. Worked at a 350 bed hospital. They literally ran out of beds, and the less critical patients were rolled into the hallways. At one point, I remember her telling me they were 51 people over their certified bed number with 401 people admitted at one time. They were calling in docs, working double shifts, allowing residents to moonlight and get paid, etc. Not a single word from media.
