Congress's oversight over the federal government is nonexistent. They are nothing more than glorified pen pals to the federal agencies they claim to oversee. It's akin to a child who writes a letter addressed to the North Pole around Christmas time, bragging about how they hold sway over Santa. The only difference is Congress is more delusion than said infant, because not only do they send letters into a meaningless void like the child, but they also attach a blank check to it.
Not even the President who in theory is the head of all federal agencies holds any sway over the numerous bureaucratic offices under him. We saw this with Trump via Vindman at the NSC, Sondland and Yovanovitch at the State Department, and Barr at the DOJ. Biden who is perhaps the weakest and most feckless POTUS in the history of the United States can hardly hope to fare even better.
Now with the CDC's ignoring of the Supreme Court's decision that they can not intervene between renter and property owner, the bureaucracies cucking of all three branches of government is complete.
But the show of light and shadow goes on. Graham, Nunes, Grassley, and Johnson continue to write "strong letters," that produce as much as a constipated asshole in terms of results. America is fucked.
