I'm hoping that there are some here that get a (you) as you represent this place in the best way possible. I asked for a prayer for my father who was having a stroke. Each response provided much needed courage to me which was then passed on to my mother. My nephew, also anon, was blown away at the genuine replies.

Thank you all, it's an honor to be here. O7

Well, that is the tough part. He has always been very clear that he didn't want to be a burden on my mother, or to me and my brother. So we honored his DNR and no intubation. There was a sign on the computer used by the nurses that simply said "End of Life".

However, he didn't die. He looks like he's sleeping, complete with snoring. He has moments of consciousness but then falls asleep. The Dr's say yes stable. But we won't know any prognosis until he wakes up. The trying time will be in the next 2 weeks because they will want to out a feeding tube into his stomach and that is where my mother has said "no".
