Kabul Evacuation Flights Resume as U.S. Warns Further Attacks Expected

Emergency civilian evacuation flights resumed from Kabul airport early Friday morning as U.S. officials warned further terrorist attacks can be expected.

A day after twin suicide bombings targeted the thousands of desperate people fleeing the Taliban takeover, AP reports the U.S. says “further attempted attacks are expected” ahead of the Tuesday deadline for foreign troops to leave.

The warning came as the Taliban mounted its own cordon around the airport and began challenging those seeking access to emergency flights.

Nearly 8,700 Criminals Arrested at Southern Border in Past 10 Months, Including Repeat Sex Offenders

Over the past 10 months, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents have arrested 8,691 known criminals who have entered the U.S. illegally through the southern border. Combined, they have committed 12,685 crimes in the U.S., according to federal data.

Because Border Patrol agents do not have access to criminal records from other countries, they rely on information reported in the National Crime Information Center database. Many individuals arrested by Border Patrol are registered sex offenders who were previously convicted and served time in U.S. prisons. They were released and deported only to reenter the U.S. again illegally this year.

The NCIC is a centralized automated database designed to share information among law enforcement agencies including outstanding warrants for a wide range of offenses. Based on information from NCIC, Border Patrol officers have made previous arrests of individuals wanted on charges of homicide, escape, money laundering, robbery, narcotics distribution, sexual child abuse, fraud, larceny, and military desertion.

In a recent Laredo, Texas, Border Patrol Sector report, among a group of 20 apprehended this week, one was a Honduran national and registered sex offender with an extensive criminal history. He was convicted of lewd lascivious battery and sexual activity with a minor in 2017 in Florida and was deported in October 2020.

His arrest, the Laredo Sector said in a news release, “continues to highlight the dangers that illegal immigration poses to our country especially by those individuals who have been previously convicted for sexual misconduct. These dangerous criminals increasingly continue to endanger our communities and show a lack of regard for our country’s laws.”

In another apprehension, Laredo agents detained a Mexican national wanted for allegations of rape out of Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

‘Resign Or Face Impeachment’: Lawmakers Call For Biden’s Ouster In Wake Of Afghanistan Disaster

Thirteen U.S. service members and at least 90 Afghans are dead after suicide bombers attacked the Kabul airport and an adjacent hotel not two weeks after President Joe Biden’s thoughtless and failed attempt to pack up and leave Afghanistan — and many Republican leaders aren’t having it.

Instead of taking responsibility and prioritizing bringing Americans home, the Biden administration has shifted blame onto the preceding administration and evacuated mostly poorly vetted Afghans. According to Politico, U.S. officials have even shared intelligence with the Taliban, with one defense official saying, “Basically, they just put all those Afghans on a kill list.”

Democrats and their Republican friends Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois — neither of whom returned The Federalist’s request for comment about whether they would also call for Biden’s resignation or impeachment — jumped at the chance to impeach former President Donald Trump after he called on supporters to be peaceful. Now the following GOP lawmakers are calling on Biden to resign for his dereliction of duty that has left Americans dead at the hands of terrorists.

Joe Biden Must Resign.

Just eleven days have passed since we first reflected on the “unmitigated disasters” of Joe Biden’s short-yet-violent presidency. Today, our worst fears are confirmed. The President of the United States is unable or unwilling to carry out his most basic duties.

Both can be true.

In Joe Biden’s infrequent moments of lucidity, he compares his own personal stories with some of the most fresh and harrowing wounds the nation is feeling. Listen to his press conference from today, if you can bear it, or even find it.

Within minutes he was talking about his son Beau, again, just as he did throughout the primary period, and continues to do to this day.

Beau Biden was a Judge Advocate General (JAG) – an Army lawyer – who trained lawyers for the Organization for Security and Co-operation (an NGO) in Europe. Beau spent a year in Iraq in a non-combat role, being visited by his Vice President father three times while deployed. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2010, and received the finest treatment possible until his demise five years later.

Despite these very real differences between Beau Biden’s death and the sudden, violent deaths of 13 U.S. Marines in Kabul this morning, Joe Biden once again sought to hide behind the dead body of his son, Beau.

Beau Biden sadly died of cancer. Dozens of human beings died today because of Joe Biden’s ineptitude, his team’s arrogance, and the U.S. military’s pathetic, woke leaders.

As if the phony comparison wasn’t rage-inducing enough, Biden spent the rest of the presser attempting to blame his predecessor, Donald Trump.

Trump was in fact the President who tried to set up the Contingency and Crisis Response Bureau within the State Department. That entity was specifically tasked with dealing with situations like Afghanistan and its capital city. The entity was scrapped by Biden’s team between February and June this year.

Joe Biden Has Been Derelict In His Duty. He Is Unfit To Lead. He Should Be Impeached

The deadly attacks in Afghanistan should be the final straw for Biden, whose incompetence has now cost the lives of at least a dozen American soldiers.

oe Biden is not capable or competent to hold the office of the presidency. If there were any doubt on this point, his press conference Thursday evening in the wake of a pair of coordinated suicide bombings in Kabul should put the matter to rest.

As of this writing, more than one dozen U.S. Marines were killed Thursday in Kabul, along with more than 60 Afghans in two separate blasts, one at the Abbey Gate of the airport and another at a nearby hotel. Many more are injured, and according to U.S. officials there may be more attacks coming. At least 18 other U.S. service members were injured.

Whatever the final body count is, Thursday was the deadliest day for U.S. troops in Afghanistan since 2011, and the first time since February 2020 that any U.S. service members have been killed in action there. When the smoke finally clears, one thing is certain: Biden has been derelict in his duty, he is unfit to lead, and he should be impeached.

At his press conference Thursday evening, the president was slow and appeared at times to be confused, his answers rambling and unclear. When the time came to take questions, he said he’d been given a list, and had “been instructed” to call on certain reporters. It was a moment of quiet dread when we all saw confirmed again, before a gaping world, that although Biden is the president, he’s not actually running the country.

Of course Biden’s bizarre behavior at the press conference, although deeply disturbing, does not alone justify impeachment. Rather, it’s his fecklessness and incompetence, his failure to protect Americans in the evacuation of Afghanistan, and his inability to speak clearly and honestly about the situation, that justifies impeachment at this point.

Throughout this crisis, Biden and his White House have been evasive, defensive, and cruelly indifferent to a disaster entirely of their own making. The bare minimum for a commander in chief in this scenario is to be clear and forthright with the American people about what it will take to get Americans out safely, and what will happen if we can’t get them out by the August 31 deadline. Instead, the Biden administration has blamed Donald Trump, ducked questions, stonewalled, and generally contributed to the deadly chaos still unfolding in Afghanistan.

Indeed, what this means for the ongoing evacuation is unclear. It might well be over, at this point. News reports out of Kabul indicate the U.S. military is welding shut the gates of the airport complex, which could mean an abrupt end to evacuation efforts for an estimated 1,500 American citizens, at least, still trapped in Afghanistan.

If that is the case, we are now facing the worst hostage crisis in American history.
