I get it though. Picture this:
I have a responsibility to the public for their safety. I have taken an oath not to do harm.
I try to do the right thing and they threaten me.
I do it anyways - because it's the right thing to do. They threaten my family, my kids. They harrass me till I have to uproot and move to a new town where the harrassment continues. They get their lackies to charge me with a bogus CP charge and they can make it go away if I shut up.
