Al-Qaeda Leader Reemerges in Afghanistan Surrounded by Taliban Security as US Military Abandons the Country

We were lied to.

There never was a moderate Taliban.

A new video emerged Monday of Al-Qaeda leader Dr. Amin Al Haq, the personal security chief of Osama Bin Laden, being escorted in Afghanistan by Taliban security.

This is after US generals and the Biden Administration said Al-Qaeda had been decimated in Afghanistan.

Guess that wasn’t true.

The Doha Agreement with the Taliban did not allow for Al-Qaeda to be on Afghanistan soil.

The Taliban broke this agreement as Americans were leaving Kabul.

The Drive reported:

A video has emerged online today that reportedly shows Dr. Amin Al Haq, who served for a time as the personal security chief for Al Qaeda founder Osama Bin Laden, traveling in the open in Afghanistan for the first time in a decade with a Taliban escort. If the description of this video is accurate, it can only raise questions about the current relationship between the Taliban and Al Qaeda and whether the former group will again give the latter safe haven in the country.

At the same time, a controversial American drone strike in Kabul yesterday, which, regardless of its intended targets, increasingly appears to have killed a number of innocent civilians, highlights the potential limits of future “over-the-horizon” counter-terrorism capabilities that will be available to the U.S. government going forward. All of this comes on the eve of the final withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan and the end of what American officials now say is set to be the largest evacuation airlift operation in U.S. military history.

Biden Tells DHS Mayorkas to Resettle ‘Vulnerable’ Afghans

The agency that is helping at least 800,000 migrants to rush over the southern border this year is now getting the extra task of resettling many “vulnerable Afghans” in Americans’ neighborhoods and workplaces.

The agency is getting the job because “they’ve proven to be rather expert in dispersing all the economic migrants apprehended at the southern border,” said Rob Law, the director of regulatory affairs and policy at the Center for Immigration Studies.

“They have the apparatus in place to quickly disperse Afghans throughout the country, with no vetting, no accountability, and no regard for the impact on the American communities that they are going to be deposited into,” he added.

“This is all about getting future Democratic voters here, so there’s no better agency than one run by Alejandro Mayorkas to do that,” Rosemary Jenks, the policy director at NumbersUSA told Breitbart. She added:

We’ve gotten way, way, way past the [endangered population of Afghan] interpreters and translators. Now it’s just basically everyone who wants to get out of Afghanistan … It’s unclear that they even know who they’re bringing here at this point [because] they’re bringing people in, abusing the federal authority to get the bodies here, whether or not they’ve done the screening.

“I doubt that there is a limit on his vision — I think he would go for as many as he can get,” she added.

“President Biden has directed the Secretary of Homeland Security [Alejandro Mayorkas] to have his department serve as the lead agency coordinating ongoing efforts across the federal government to resettle vulnerable Afghans, including those who worked on behalf of the United States,” against the Islamic fundamentalist Taliban force, said an August 30 DHS statement.

The statement does not mention how many Afghans are to be imported into Americans’ home country.

In August, Biden predicted a limit of 65,000, but his deputies have already imported twice as many — and are promising to extract more Afghans in future years. Biden’s political allies are pushing for huge numbers, even above one million.

Mayorkas was born in Cuba, and he and his family were welcomed to the United States in 1960 when Fidel Castro took over Cuba. He is a pro-migration zealot who puts the interests of migrants, of employers, and of investors ahead of Americans, including many millions of poor, drug-addicted, isolated, homeless, or unemployed Americans.

Surveys show that almost 80 percent of Americans are opposed to corporate labor migration and that only about one-third of Americans accept the 1950s “Nation of Immigrants“demand. But Mayorkas argues that pro-immigrant “values” are as important as the 1965 law that protects Americans from labor migration. For example, he declared in March:

We will also not waver in our values and our principles as a Nation. Our goal is a safe, legal, and orderly immigration system that is based on our bedrock priorities: to keep our borders secure, address the plight of children as the law requires, and enable families to be together … We are both a nation of laws and a nation of immigrants. That is one of our proudest traditions.

The August 29 statement includes a message from Mayorkas, saying that migration is “the best of who we are”:

The Department of Homeland Security is prepared to serve as the lead federal agency coordinating efforts across the federal government to welcome vulnerable Afghans to our Nation in a way that is consistent with our laws and our values,” said Secretary Mayorkas. “This mission reflects the best of who we are as a country and our Department is honored by the trust the President has placed in us.”

“The problem is that the agency tasked with Homeland Security is being run by people who don’t take that [security] mission seriously,” said Mark Krikorian, the director of the Center for Immigration Studies, adding:

[DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas] thinks that there is no conflict between the interests of Americans and the interests of Afghans trying to come here. But there clearly is and he’s prioritizing the interests of the foreigners. I don’t think he sees it that way — nobody really sees himself as doing something bad.

San Diego Proposal On Combatting COVID "Misinformation" Triggers Free Speech Concerns

There is growing controversy in San Diego after the county board of supervisors introduced a proposal to declare “health misinformation a public health crisis” and enact measures to try to “combat” views deemed untrue or misleading. As a free speech advocate, I do not share some of the objections made to the proposals.

However, one item is deeply concerning.

On its face, the proposal calls for government agencies to combat bad information with better information on Covid. I have no problem with such informational programs. Even if people disagree with the government’s view of vaccines or mandates, they are free to voice their opposing views in the exercise of free speech. For example, while I opposed the Big Gulp laws and laws barring certain foods or advertising, I have always recognized the legitimate (and often positive) role of the government in highlighting what it views as good science or good practices.

What concerns me is this item:

“e). Partner with federal, state, territorial, tribal, private, nonprofit, research, and other local entities to identify best practices to stop the spread of health misinformation and develop and implement coordinated recommendations.”

There is a difference between countering and stopping misinformation. The latter has been a focus of Democratic members in Congress in seeking to censor opposing views on subjects from election fraud to climate change to Covid. Direct censorship from “federal, state, territorial” offices would be subject to First Amendment challenges. However, the proposal also makes specific reference to private and other entities which would be enlisted to combat misinformation.

As previously discussed, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey appeared at a key hearing in which he followed up his apology for censoring the Hunter Biden story by pledging more censorship. One of the most chilling moments came from Delaware Senator Chris Coons who demonstrated the very essence of the “slippery slope” danger.

Taliban Hails ‘Great Neighbor’ China, Renews Promise Not to Let Terrorists Base in Afghanistan

Chinese entrepreneurs and managers of state-owned enterprises recently told Chinese media that while investment opportunities in Afghanistan are ample, the danger of violence and of US sanctions has made them leery of pursuing them so far.

The Taliban* has renewed its pledge to fight terrorism in Afghanistan as it continues to court promises of Chinese infrastructure investment in a new interview with Chinese media.

“We are ready to exchange views with China on how to forge ahead in terms of boosting our mutual relations, establishing peace in the region, and its assistance in the reconstruction of Afghanistan,” Taliban spokesperson Suhail Shaheen told the South China Morning Post on Monday.

“China, our great neighbouring country, can have a constructive and positive role in the reconstruction of Afghanistan and also in the economic development and prosperity of the people of Afghanistan,” he added.

At a Tianjin meeting in July, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told Taliban leader and co-founder Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar that the group must “deal resolutely” with the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), a Xinjiang-based terrorist group the Taliban has given refuge to in the past. He added earlier this month that the Taliban “needs to completely cut off from all terrorist forces with a clear attitude and take measures to combat international terrorist organisations classified by the UN Security Council.”

Suhail reiterated the group’s pledge on Monday, saying that the Taliban had “given a clear message to all that no one can use the soil of Afghanistan against neighbouring and other countries.” The group has given similar pledges to the US and Pakistan, promising to end its support for al-Qaeda* and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan.

Iran and Tajikistan have focused more on the formation of an inclusive and stable government in Afghanistan that will represent all ethnic and religious minorities, although Beijing and Islamabad have said the same as well.

After four decades of war, the Central Asian nation largely lies in ruins, with its infrastructure wrecked and its economy based in large part on the exporting of opiates. Twenty years of that time was spent under US occupation and a counterinsurgency war that left up to half a million Afghans dead, according to estimates by the Costs of War Project at Brown University. That occupation ended early Tuesday morning as the last US military aircraft left Kabul’s main airport in the middle of the night, the product of a negotiated peace with the Taliban.

The Taliban unexpectedly wound up cooperating with US forces in securing the airport during the final phase of the withdrawal after they captured Kabul, the country’s capital and largest city, without a fight on August 15. After throngs of people attempting to leave the country crowded around the entrance to Hamid Karzai International Airport, Daesh-Khorasan*, an Islamic State group hostile to both the US and the Taliban, staged a series of deadly terrorist attacks last week that killed nearly 200 people, including 13 US service members.

However, after the US carried out retaliatory airstrikes against Daesh-K that killed a number of civilians as well, Taliban officials castigated their US counterparts for not informing them and allowing them to deal with the threat.

Gates, age 40, of Cortland, New York, was sentenced yesterday to serve 540 months (45 years) in prison for conspiring and acting together with co-defendant Christopher Perry to sexually exploit a child under five years of age for the purpose of producing images of the abuse.

As part of her prior guilty plea to a three-count Information, Gates admitted that on several occasions in 2017, she and Perry performed sexual acts on the child while taking photographs of the abuse, using two cell phones.

Senior United States District Judge Thomas J. McAvoy also imposed a 15-year term of supervised release, which will start after Gates is released from prison. As a result of her conviction, Gates will also be required to register as a sex offender upon her release from prison.

Perry previously pled guilty to the same offenses and was sentenced, on November 3, 2020, to 540 months (45 years) in prison.

Gaetjens inquiry into who in Prime Minister's Office knew about Brittany Higgins' allegations of rape suspended

An inquiry into who knew what and when within the Prime Minister's office about the alleged rape of former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins has been suspended for a second time.

The head of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Phil Gaetjens, confirmed he has put his investigation on hold due to concerns raised by the ACT’s Director of Public Prosecutions that it could “prejudice criminal proceedings now on foot”.

A 26-year-old man was recently charged by police over the alleged assault.

"On the basis of legal advice received on 27 August 2021, I have suspended my inquiry until the conclusion of the criminal trial," Mr Gaetjens said in a statement.

"This is to ensure that the inquiry can have no adverse impact on the criminal prosecution.

"The action I have taken is strictly in response to the legal advice I have received, and does not relate to any of the content of the inquiry. No inferences in relation to that content can be drawn from the legal advice nor my decision to suspend the inquiry."

Mr Gaetjens said he had informed Prime Minister Scott Morrison of his decision, the second time he has paused his investigations since February.

The inquiry is one of several launched by Mr Morrison after Ms Higgins went public in February, alleging she had been raped by a male colleague inside a minister's office at Parliament House in 2019.

While Mr Morrison insisted he first learned of the allegation when the story broke, Ms Higgins said a handful of his staff had been aware long before that.

Under mounting political pressure, Mr Morrison asked Mr Gaetjens to investigate which staff in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) knew about the allegation, when they became aware and what they were told.

Next month, the man accused of raping Ms Higgins is due to front the ACT Magistrates Court where he will face "one charge of sexual intercourse without consent", according to ACT Police.

Ms Higgins has given consent through the ACT courts to be named as the complainant.

Given the timing, Monday's announcement by Mr Gaetjens has raised questions about his ability to complete the inquiry in time for the next federal election, which is due by May next year.

VIDEO: Jen Psaki Desperately Fends Off ‘Aggressive’ Fly During Press Conference

Insects buzzed around the White House Press Secretary multiple times during a press conference today.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was forced to fend off what she described as an “aggressive bug” on multiple occasions during a press conference today.

While it is currently unclear why flies frequently make appearances alongside US government officials and politicians on live television, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki can’t seem to make it stop happening to her. Today at a press conference, Psaki was once again interrupted by the pesky insect on multiple occasions

“Woah,” said Psaki. “We clearly need to – sorry. That was an aggressive bug.”

National File documented a previous encounter between Psaki and the Musca domestica back in June following another press conference at the White House. During the press conference, Psaki was told by a reporter that a fly was resting on top of her head. Upon hearing the news, Psaki frantically swatted the insect and said “at least it’s not a cicada.”

Psaki has been known to fend off flies during her press conferences, and in one instance left people scratching their heads in curiosity when she bizarrely stuck her tongue out while a reporter was asking her a question in July.

Biden Breaks His Promise And Leaves Stranded Americans Behind At The Mercy Of The Taliban

Less than two weeks after President Joe Biden promised to stay in Afghanistan until every American gets out, the final U.S. military flight from Kabul departed with “hundreds” of Americans still left in the country.

No American civilians were on the final five military flights out of Afghanistan before Biden’s Aug. 31 deadline expired, Gen. Kenneth McKenzie said at a press conference Monday afternoon: “No American citizens came out on the last, what we call the joint tactical exfiltration, the last five jets to leave. We maintained the ability to bring them in up until immediately before departure, but we were not able to bring any Americans out.”

“That activity ended probably about 12 hours before our exit, although we continue the outreach and would’ve been prepared to bring them on until the very last minute, but none of them made it to the airport and were able to be accommodated,” McKenzie added.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken had said there were about 300 Americans remaining in Afghanistan who wanted to leave as of Sunday morning, just over 24 hours from the departure of the last American flight from Kabul. It remains unclear at this time how many of those Americans were left in Afghanistan.

When asked what his message is for Americans citizens and Afghan allies who were left behind, McKenzie stressed that the diplomatic phase of the operation was still ongoing despite the end of the military operation.

“I believe our Department of State is going to work very hard to allow any Americans citizens that are left, and we think the citizens that were not brought out number in the low, very low hundreds, I believe we’re gonna be able to get those people out.”

“I think we’re also gonna negotiate very hard and very aggressively to get our other Afghan partners out. The military phase is over, but our desire to bring these people out remains as intense as it was before. The weapons have just shifted, if you will, from the military realm to the diplomatic realm.”
