Possible idea for anons who edited their host file and still cannot see images.On both my Winblows 10 and Winblows 7 machines the "Save As dialog" box automatically defaults to "Save As .txt". If you accidentally saved your hosts file as .txt it will not work. In your file list your hosts file type should shown as "file".
If you have corrupted your hosts file this way just google "I accidentally saved my hosts file as .txt now what" and several simple tutorials will show that can be used to restore your hosts file. Once restored, the trick is to pay close attention to the "Save As" options and select "All Files". Once restored, you can then follow the instructions for editing your hosts file shown here in the breads. Just be sure to save as "All Files" not ".txt".
