I'll be the asshole.
Jennifer Griffin just said that the green card Afghans that the Taliban were turning away from the airport were trying to get 10-12 relatives into the airport with them.
GOOD. I'm glad the Taliban refused them access to the airport. WTF man. Wife & kids, elderly parents maybe. Not cousins & aunts & uncles. FFS
Does anyone else now see things differently than what they probably mean? I can't explain it, but an example is this section from a mining company page. I read it as all bad for the land & surrounding areas:
"Investing in the future
By the end of 2017, we had invested approximately $450 million in early groundworks and engineering, including a tunnel and barrier for the diversion of the Asana river, an access road, construction camps and water infrastructure for construction and operations.
This work has been led by our world class technical team that has also been refining the design for Quellaveco to enhance its economics and the project’s long-term prospects.
We have every confidence that we will deliver Quellaveco on time and on budget, with first copper production during 2022."
AND this part reads like a threat & also some bribes are regularly used:
"While Peru will be a new operating geography for us, we’ve been preparing the ground for many years – both literally and figuratively – developing strong relationships with local communities, government authorities and regulators along the way.
We have secured the licenses and permits to move forward with Quellaveco, including access rights to land required for construction and operation."

I constantly see the "ulterior motive" almost instantly now without even trying

Afghanistan OP PR person, you are very smart.
Holding back the story on this guy who rescued a stranded Biden in 2008 & how he's now stranded in Afghanistan is making me laugh. More so because they had to move his speech back hahahahahaa
You guys are awesome.
Thank you for letting the dogs out of the cages too.
