I had a very similar experience.
My film studies teacher was a racist Nazi who thought the best movie ever made was Birth of A Nation. Announcing this on the first day of class. I was so shocked, I tried to drop the class immediately, but they caught me in a catch 22. Dropping too many classes would have resulted in a bad GPA. I had a 3.8. I was stuck and she didn't like me either. Got my first and only C grade in college.
