John Pierce, the attorney defending 17 clients charged with storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, has gone missing.

His missed an Aug. 24 court hearing for one of his clients, and nobody has seen him since.

On Wednesday, Pierce's associate told a judge the defense attorney had contracted COVID-19 and was in the hospital on a ventilator. The associate also allegedly told a prosecutor Pierce had been in a car accident.

Later on, a different associate told a reporter that Pierce was in the hospital being treated for dehydration and exhaustion.

This week, the Justice Department got involved, informing several judges that no one had heard from Pierce in a week and that "multiple" phone lines for his law firm seem to have been disconnected.

Pierce's disappearance is endangering the rights of his clients, whose cases have come to a standstill.

The self-described, pro-Trump populist came out swinging at the outset of the defense proceedings for his many clients, promising he would force the government to hand over video footage of the Capitol from several days before and after the incident.

I began homeschooling when my son was in junior high

School District was the biggest problem - they wanted the $$$ and attempted to charge me with 'truancy'

That was humorous. Absolutely packed courtroom as word got out about the case

I won, of course I did. I did everything by the book, had the qualifications to teach my son

District attorney stood before the judge and said 'Your honor we are asking you to deny her constitutional right to homeschool her son'

I can't even imagine the horror of schools now

Moral of my story: Just follow your states rules for homeschooling and a district has no choice, they can harass but they will lose

Bonus in my case was that they lost AND had to pay my attorney fees

A district wasted thousands and thousands of $$ trying to get me on 'truancy' when I was doing everything right.

They were just pissed

Waste of $$ that could have and should have been used to teach not sue me

But districts [many] think they have complete control of your child

U.S. “May” Provide Economic and Development Assistance to the Taliban

In the latest disaster to come out of the Biden administration, we learn from White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan that they’re open to sending American aid to the Taliban.

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked “You say we’re going to work with the Taliban. Does that include the prospect of giving them aid?” In response, Sullivan said that they’ll continue humanitarian assistance, and that they’re considering “economic and development assistance” for the Taliban too, but it’ll supposedly be contingent on their actions.
