So, periodic refreshes needed for the JS fix to work.
The non-refresh workaround (if you really only care about certain jpgs and not all) is to:
Right-click this image and open in new tab.
While clocking edit in addy bar removing the media up front and replacing with sys.
Hit enter and you'll see it.
Took that link to a new tab.
It clocked.
Then I change the media to sys and hit enter.
It came up fine.
Hmmmm.
Right click an image from here into a new tab.
Change the 'media' to 'sys' and hit enter.
Do you see the image?

That tells me that a direct call via the browser addy can get it.
But, it won't resolve via the regular behind the scenes code way.

Open image in new tab changing the 'media' to 'sys'.
Right click the JPG copy the link location.
Then open blank tab paste and change 'media' to 'sys'.
Bummer.
Maybe try refresh but remove the #q…. part at the end.
If it still doesn't work then you'll have to do the hit catalog link then come back in thing.
