The question no one seems to ask is what is incentivizing these school boards to push mask and/or vax mandates in the face of rigorous even physical protest from parents

and being honest that real science (and even the pseudo scientific 'psychology' of the stupid follow) conclusively states are detrimental?
School boards generally [used to] work in the interest of students, outcomes, and appeasement of parents [of course within budget constraints]. Facing up to angry parents, not just a few but large crowds wasn't in their job descriptions and you would expect most ordinary people to back down.
These are supposed to be smart educated people, those that would follow real science.
They've been bought: at this point nothing else makes sense.
