Have assumed that since the beginning - geez, even in that "National Treasure" movie, a character hacked into the red light cameras.

I'd be kind of disappointed if they couldn't easily get into everything.

Remember in the movie about Bill Binney, "A Good American", he was discussing how he'd come up with a better surveillance program that filtered all the ginormous amount of chatter produced by millions of people down to stuff that was actually USEFUL? NSA was hanging onto their budget money with white knuckles, and didn't want to change what they were doing and/or in the process of doing, and gave him & colleagues the boot for even suggesting such a thing.

It's like trying to grill steaks using every single item in the grocery store. All you really need is the steaks and maybe some seasoning. Well, what they need is ACTIONABLE intelligence, not the grocery list of Jane Smith in Milwaukee.

But for now, of course, "we have it all".
