Churchill spent a lot of personal prestige in english public and in government power people. Some sections of media rubbished him too.

Why did Churchill persist with blowing a horn and banging a drum all thru the 1930's that HH and the 3rd Reich was a danger to the free world and that england needed to re-arm and modernise. Why? He believed the secret deals in Geneva etc which was being backed by the League of Nations (Illuminati, Roths (rise of fiat money budgets), etc , geopolitic cabal and top echelon family machinations.

when you read the WW2 Diaries of Churchill (12 volumes!!) he richly fills in the detail of the machinations and international spies/spooks around the planned legal-by-the-book way the german cabal got HH into the top slot in German republic. That included the assistance of President Hindenburg. And USA political connections, corporate connections. And once in power, the Nazi economic miracle began with a massive fiat and corporate junk bond cook-the-books free-for-all by HH bff Martin Bormann. They were not playing, they did a pro job on it. Extensive elite family connections were established thru shell companies in the USA, UK, France, etc, HH had agents and press friends in UK and France. Mein Kampf was translated and shipped by the truckload. All of it under NGO cover such as the League and the ideals of fixing depression employment woes and inflation caused by Reparations established to bring it all on …by…. the elite money people of course. Churchill was privvy to intel and msgs from Geneva etc and thats where his crusade took off.

The centrist German Prime Minister faced economic pressure (peep starving etc) and faced a looming election that extremist from left and right wanted to win. The german domestic and french domestic media was owned and directed by rich elite industrialists (who wanted HH into power - oligarchy)(shades of current power plays in the 2020 election)

So the centrist see that if he goes to the Americans, English/French League sponsored Reparations Conference he could come back to Berlin having unloaded a heap of debt imposed by France in particular. The Americans wanted that too. But the elite want the centrist to lose so they ran a play on the diplomats (a love letter to embarrass and ridicule - a scandal at the Ballroom) that gave the French all the cover or bad blood required to dodge the decision and kick the can down the road. Therefore the plane arrives back to berlin after months of build up and general expectations to the public… and the centrist emerges to all the cameras but his briefcase is empty - no agreement. he was toast. The papers all ran front page hits stories about national humiliation and that the other nations gave him no credibility as the leader and that Germany need a real respected leader etc etc etc, so HH got elected (legit) a few weeks later.. the elite "manufactured consent" as we call it.

This was seent by Churchill in real time as I said, and he was a member of one the elite families himself. But he despised the plans of the hun… (Boer War and WW1 experiences added) and hence Patriotism was his purpose behind his continual push to re-arm england thru the '30s.
