Texas Judge Hands Narrow Win To Planned Parenthood In Legal Battle Over New Abortion Law

A Texas judge on Friday ordered a pro-life group and people affiliated with it not to bring lawsuits against a trio of Planned Parenthood affiliates.

The action relates to a new law that bans most abortions and went into effect on Sept. 1.

People under the law can sue doctors who perform illegal abortions and others who allegedly aid and abet the illegal procedures.

But Texas Right to Life, already barred for now from bringing suits against two lawyers and an abortion fund, were ordered by Travis County District Court Judge Maya Guerra Gamble not to sue Planned Parenthood South Texas Surgical Center, Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas Surgical Health Services, Planned Parenthood Center for Choice, and Bhavik Kumar, who performs abortions at the center.

Gamble, a Democrat who began her term in 2019, said the new law, Texas Senate Bill 8, “creates a probable, irreparable, and imminent injury in the interim for which Plaintiffs and their physicians, staff, and patients throughout Texas have no adequate remedy at law” if they’re sued by private citizens under the measure.

Those restrained by the ruling, which is in effect until Sept. 17, are Texas Right to Life, its legislative director John Seago, and Jane/John Doe 1-100, described in Planned Parenthood’s suit as “individuals or entities who have expressed to other Defendants, whether by words or actions, their intention to enforce S.B. 8 against Plaintiffs.”

“This restraining order offers protection to the brave health care providers and staff at Planned Parenthood health centers throughout Texas, who have continued to offer care as best they can within the law while facing surveillance, harassment, and threats from vigilantes eager to stop them,” Helene Krasnoff, vice president for public policy litigation and law for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said in a statement.

Texas Right to Life, a pro-life group that advocated for the new law, said in a statement that the order does not block it because citizens not named as defendants can still sue abortion providers or others who violate the law.

“This lawsuit will not stop the work of Texas Right to Life. Estimates are that approximately 150 babies per day are being saved because of Texas Right to Life’s leadership on the Texas Heartbeat Act. Planned Parenthood can keep suing us, but Texas Right to Life will never back down from protecting pregnant women and preborn children from abortion,” Elizabeth Graham, vice president of the group, said.

EU To "Engage" & Coordinate With The Taliban, Short Of Political Recognition: Borrell

The European Union on Friday announced that its foreign ministers will interact and coordinate with the new Taliban government in Kabul, but will stop short of "formally recognizing" it.

Top EU diplomat Josep Borrell told a news conference in the Slovenia capital of Ljubljana that "In order to support the Afghan population, we will have to engage with the new government in Afghanistan, which doesn't mean recognition. It's an operational engagement." He said this is for "the sake of the local population."

"We have decided to work in a coordinated manner to coordinate our contact with the Taliban – including through a joint European Union presence in Kabul… if the security conditions are met," he was cited in the Associated Press as saying.

This 'coordination' could grow deeper depending on the Taliban's behavior and whether it meets key nonnegotiable conditions, according to the EU foreign policy chief.

Euronews lists the following: "…preventing the export of terrorism, respecting human rights, creating an inclusive government, allowing access to humanitarian aid, and allowing the departures of Afghan and European civilians who wish to leave."

Borrell described these as the "benchmarks that we discussed as a basis for the EU engagement with the Afghan powerholder, following the Taliban takeover. We will judge the behavior." It will be interesting to see how elastic a definition "inclusive" government becomes when applied to the Taliban, however.

Prior to the Taliban takeover of Kabul and subsequent rapid evacuations of diplomatic offices, the EU had some 520 diplomats and supporting staffers stationed at its foreign policy service offices in the Afghan capital. Days ago the EU announced they had all been evacuated in the weeks prior. In mid-August Borrell concluded, "The Taliban have won the war, so we will have to talk with them."

Interestingly, Borrell's words seemed to suggest that depending on the Taliban's "behavior" - some level of future political recognition could be forthcoming at some point down the road.

Earlier this week White House national security advisor Jake Sullivan raised eyebrows by saying something similar. He suggested that the Biden administration has not ruled out sending foreign aid direct to the Taliban so that it reaches the people.

In the televised remarks Sullivan actually used the unsettling phrase "our economic and development assistance relationship" with the Taliban, while underscoring that "It's going to be up to them" - emphasizing the need for Taliban 'good behavior' - or at least as much as one can expect for a group long viewed internationally as a hardline terror organization.

This also all but ensures that the controversial "Green Pass" system will also likely continue expanding and being "updated" indefinitely. Already authorities have said that this form of a 'vaccine passport' which gives the holder entry to specified public venues like restaurants, gyms, and publish worship spaces, is subject to expiration depending on if the holder received their second or third dose of the vaccine.

Major UK Covid-19 test provider faces probe by market watchdog, reportedly still selling tests

The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has opened an inquiry into Expert Medicals – one of the nation’s major Covid-19 test providers – following customer complaints. The company still allegedly sells the tests, though.

Expert Medicals, one of the largest providers of PCR travel tests in the UK, has been removed from a list of companies that “self-declare that they meet the government’s minimum standards for COVID-19 testing,” the CMA said in a press release on Friday.

The competition watchdog said it had opened a formal probe into the test provider since it had been “the subject of a high number of complaints.” Expert Medicals has reportedly been accused of failing to provide tests and results in a timely manner, or even at all, as well as failing to respond to customer complaints and issue refunds when due.

“Our actions today are the next steps in our work to ensure the PCR testing market works for consumers and we are preparing to take further action in this sector,” said Andrea Coscelli, the CMA’s CEO.

One of the cheapest Covid test providers on the UK market, Expert Medicals has been selling kits for travelers for £28 ($39), including postage and packing. The company received a large number of complaints over delays in delivery of its tests and customer results, according to some media reports.

However, the test provider is apparently still able to sell the kits despite being removed from the government list, the UK’s ‘Which’ media outlet said. That is despite Oncologica – one of the Covid-19 test laboratories Expert Medicals used to work with – telling ‘Which’ it is unlikely to cooperate with the test provider after it was pulled from the official list.

Apart from taking action against Expert Medicals, the CMA also warned further Covid-19 test providers that they should improve their pricing information or face some action from the watchdog.

The move comes about a week after the agency issued another statement telling Covid test providers that some of their “harmful” practices could be in breach of consumer protection law.

Facebook apologizes after its AI put ‘primates’ label on video about black men

Facebook has promised to fix its auto-generated recommendation system after the company’s AI linked a video that heavily featured black men to primates, shocking viewers.

“We apologize to anyone who may have seen these offensive recommendations,” Facebook said in a statement to the media, adding that the entire topic recommendation feature has been disabled.

As we have said, while we have made improvements to our AI, we know it’s not perfect, and we have more progress to make.

Darci Groves, a former content design manager at Facebook, said a friend sent her a screenshot of a video featuring black men, which included the company’s auto-generated prompt asking viewers if they wanted to “keep seeing videos about primates.”

The video, uploaded by UK tabloid the Daily Mail in June 2020, contained clips of two separate incidents in the US – one of a group of black men arguing with a white individual on a road in Connecticut, and one of several black men arguing with white police officers in Indiana before getting detained.

According to The New York Times, Groves posted the screenshot in question to a product feedback forum for current and former Facebook employees. A product manager then called the recommendation “unacceptable” and promised to investigate the incident.

Last year, Facebook formed a team at Instagram to study how different minority users are affected by algorithms. The move was made after the social media giant was criticized for overlooking racial bias on its platforms.

Algorithms used by tech giants have come under fire for embarrassing mistakes in the past. In 2015, Google apologized after its Photos app labeled a picture of black people “gorillas.”

Thousands flood Paris streets protesting against Covid-19 health passes across France

More than 200 demonstrations against the so-called coronavirus health pass have been scheduled for Saturday across France. In Paris alone thousands of people joined rallies against what they call a violation of people’s rights.

Massive crowds flooded the streets of the French capital on Saturday. Several thousand demonstrators marched through the Boulevard Saint-Marcel in the southeastern part of the city toward the Place de la Bastille.

People were holding placards that read ‘Stop’, chanting ‘Freedom’ and beating drums. Some of the protesters were seen wearing yellow vests – a symbol of another massive protest movement that was active in France for about a year and a half between October 2018 and March 2020.

Some 2,000 joined the march, according to the French media. At the Place de la Bastille, where the march was heading, the police used tear gas against a group of demonstrators that sought to join the protest, according to RT France’s journalist, Charles Baudry.

Demonstrators also attempted to deviate from the major march route in Paris on several other occasions, prompting the police to intervene, the French media reported. The rallies went off peacefully otherwise.

Large gatherings were also seen in other parts of the city. A total of five rallies were scheduled in the French capital on Saturday. A massive crowd gathered near the Eiffel Tower. The demonstrators were waving French national flags and were holding a large orange banner with the word ‘Freedom’ written on it.

Fauci-Funded Researchers & U.S. Officials Star In Chinese State Propaganda Documentary.

National Institutes of Health officials and researchers funded by Anthony Fauci are contributing to documentaries produced by Chinese Communist Party-run media outlets seeking to absolve the regime of blame for COVID-19.

China Global Television Network (CGTN) relies on participation from American experts – even from the taxpayer-funded National Institutes of Health (NIH) – to grant a facade of credibility to its propaganda operation.

The state-run broadcaster’s hour-long documentary – “The Next Pandemic” – posits that COVID-19 developed naturally, criticizing proponents of the “lab leak” theory as conspiracy theorists. To do so, the documentary relies on interviews with Chinese Communist Party-funded researchers including the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s “bat lady” Shi Zhengli and American academics with extensive ties to the Chinese Communist Party who prematurely insists the virus has a natural origin.

Also key to the documentary’s anti-lab leak narrative is an interview with Director of the NIH Office of Emergency Care Research Jeremy Brown. The NIH official speaks to the severity of the 1918 influenza pandemic in the middle of the film:

“One of the most chilling aspects of the influenza virus was of course the realization that nobody knew what was killing them. They had no identification of what this bug was. People called it influenza, but they didn’t know what it was, how it was transmitted. They had some ideas, but really, and modern medicine was in its infancy even 100 years ago, and the disease would come on very, very quickly. It uncharacteristically targeted young, healthy adults.”

Another CGTN documentary – “Transforming the Coronavirus into a ‘Political Virus'” – blames the U.S. for starting the COVID-19 pandemic and rebukes China-focused investigations into its origins,

Among the Western experts appearing in the documentary are two researchers that counting sizable funding from Fauci: Dr. Robert Garry and Dr. Frederic Bushman.

Garry has received 70 grants from NIAID, with several sums totaling over $1 million in taxpayer funds. Recently, Garry was selected as a lead investigator for an $8.9 million NIAID-funded program to combat the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses with pandemic potential globally.

Bushman has similarly received nearly 90 grants from NIAID.

Garry definitively asserts that COVID-10 is neither “a bioweapon” nor a product of a lab leak in the film:

“This is not a bioweapon. Nobody made this virus in a laboratory. This is a product of nature.”

Bushman pushes a similar, premature conclusion:

“There’s no reason to think that it’s a deliberately engineered weapon or something like that.”

Largest School District In Kansas Will Effectively Expel Students Who Violate Mask Mandate

Students who refuse to wear their mask "properly" four times will be barred from attending class, in person or virtually

National File has obtained an email from English teacher Lizanne Minerva at Northwest High School in Wichita, Kansas, part of USD-259, the state’s largest school district. The email appears to quote an email from principal Eric Hofer-Holdeman, who declares that students caught violating the district’s newly-implemented mask mandate four times will be effectively expelled from the school.

In the email, Minerva writes, “I am passing along the expectations for the mask mandate, cut-and-pasting information from Principal Hofer-Holdeman’s weekly message to teachers.” In his message, Hofer-Holdeman explains that “1st noncompliance” with the mask mandate will result in a “Verbal warning” and “If the student complies with an Administrator request to wear their mask properly, they will be allowed to return to class only if you as the teacher allow it. Administration will assume you do not want the student back in your class during that period unless you specifically write in your communication email that you will allow the student back in that period.”

The consequences for a lapse in face coverings grow quickly, according to Hofer-Holdeman. “2nd noncompliance: Verbal warning with call to parents,” write Holdeman. Additionally, students will not be allowed to return to their class, regardless of the teacher’s option. “If the student refuses to wear their mask properly for the Administrator, then that student will be removed from school until the mask mandate is lifted,” Hofer-Holderman adds, in italics.

A third “noncompliance” will result in an “In-person meeting with admin, student, and student’s parent(s) or guardian(s)” and if the student refuses to wear the mask “properly” in front of the administrator, again, the student will be removed from school.

If the student dares let their mask slip a fourth time, then Hofer-Holderman declares, “Student may no longer attend in-person until the mask mandate is lifted. Further, their absences will be considered unexcused, learning remotely with NWHS teachers will not be an option. Only those students who are required to quarantine will be allowed to log into Teams and join a class remotely.”

National File contacted Susan Arensman, the News and Media Relations Manager for USD-259, for comment on this policy and did not receive immediate clarification on whether this was a policy meant for the entirety of USD-259, or simply Northwest High School.

Additionally, the About page for USD-259 reveals that the district’s stated mission is, “Inspiring future leaders and empowering each student with the 21st century skills and knowledge necessary for success.” National File asked Arensman and USD-259 if removing students from school over a refusal to “properly” wear a face mask advances this mission and did not receive an immediate response.

High schools across the United States have faced historically high drop out rates since the beginning of COVID-19 restrictions, including lockdowns and virtual learning. National File asked Arensman and USD-259 if they believe it is responsible to remove students from school and deny them the opportunity to gain an education over face masks considering this fact, and did not receive an immediate response.

GoDaddy Blacklists Texas Right to Life Abortion Tipline

Domain registrar and internet hosting service GoDaddy has blacklisted prolifewhistleblower.com, a website run by the organization Texas Right to Life, from the internet by withdrawing service in the wake of Texas’ new abortion law.

Texas Right to Life’s website allowed users to report suspected abortions in the Lone Star State using a tip line. Texas recently passed a law banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, and allows Texas citizens to sue anyone who “aids and abets” abortions after six weeks for at least $10,000.

“Last night we informed prolifewhistleblower.com they have violated GoDaddy’s terms of service and have 24 hours to move to a different provider,” the company said in a statement.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: ‘Christian Extremists’ Are ‘Passing Forced Birth Laws’

Far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Friday said that “Christian extremists” are “passing forced birth laws” to make it more difficult for a woman to abort her child, days after Texas’s pro-life law went into effect.

“Christian extremists are passing forced birth laws to intimidate & cut off abortion services – including for victims of rape, incest, & child abuse,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

The New York lawmaker’s assertion comes days after Texas’s law, banning abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected, took effect. The first detectable heartbeat can occur as early as six weeks.

Democrats, some of whom identify as Catholics, decried the Texas abortion law after it went into effect. Nancy Pelosi, a self-proclaimed Catholic, called the law a “catastrophe for women”:

President Biden, who also identifies as a Catholic, has also rebuked the law despite accepting the position years ago that “the moment of conception is a human life and being.”

He explicitly rejected that view this week.

Abortion Lobby Argues Texas Law Will Flood States with Down Syndrome Children

“Down Syndrome” was trending on Twitter this week alongside “abortion” after the Supreme Court ruled not to block the Texas Heartbeat Act as members of the abortion lobby suggested abortion is necessary to eliminate Down syndrome.

A heavily cited thread came from Newsweek contributor Richard Hanania who proposed that banning post-heartbeat abortions could overrun red states with children with Down syndrome and other disabilities.

“You can’t screen for Down syndrome before about 10 weeks, and something like 80% of Down syndrome fetuses are aborted,” Hanania wrote. “If red states ban abortion, we could see a world where they have five times as many children with Down syndrome, and similar numbers for other disabilities.”

“Could be outliers in the whole developed world,” he warned in a separate tweet. “There are already negative stereotypes of Americans in these states, one can imagine it getting much more extreme. What if they also ban genetic engineering and embryo selection, while other places go ahead?”

“Will they maintain their belief in a small safety net and lower government spending in such a world?” he added. “Would liberals change their minds about government spending if it ends up going to states that have much higher costs due to these laws? Many interesting things to think about.”

One of those who took issue with protesting the SCOTUS decision because more children with Down syndrome would be born was Princeton University Professor Robert P. George, who reminded his followers of similar arguments used by the Third Reich.

“Why is ‘Down Syndrome’ trending on Twitter?” George asked in a tweet. “Because some people are arguing we need permissive abortion laws so we can ‘screen’ for people with Down’s and kill them in utero. So wrong. No member of the human family is inherently superior or inferior to any other in basic dignity.”

“Sometimes it’s worth remembering that what became known as the Holocaust did not begin with the murder of Jews, or Slavs, or Romani,” George continued. “It began with the killing of the disabled and cognitively impaired. They were regarded as ‘useless eaters’ and declared ‘Lebensunwertes Leben.’”

“The ideology that held Down Syndrome people and others to be ‘lives unworthy of life’ did not originate with the Nazis. It predated their rise,” he added. “Its architects were sophisticated, urbane, progressive people — like legal scholar Karl Binding and medical specialist Alfred Hoche.”

“Claiming that we are ‘eliminating Down Syndrome’ by killing people with Down Syndrome — so long as we catch them early enough — is like claiming that we are ‘eliminating poverty’ by killing poor people,” he argued. “It is barbaric and the very thought of it should fill us with revulsion.”

Another to protest the trend was Dr. Samuel Gregg of the Acton Institute, who made similar comparisons.

“Well, one thing that #Twitter has revealed today is that there are an awful lot of oh-so-sophisticated people out there who believe that people with #Downsyndrome are, as Dr. Mengele and other like-minded people said, Lebensunwertes Leben (life unworthy of life),” he wrote.

In response to negative responses to his thread, Hanania dug in his heels, insisting he was just pointing out facts.

“This is an objective observation about the world and it’s triggering many people to just point out the actual implications of their beliefs,” he wrote.

Nearly 6,000 Greek Hospital Workers Suspended for Not Getting Vaccine

The Greek Ministry of Health has revealed that 5,895 suspensions have been handed out to hospital workers who are either not fully vaccinated or declined the coronavirus vaccine.

“Vaccination is imposed for reasons of protection of public health from the spread of the coronavirus to the hospitalised who are a particularly vulnerable group,” the Greek Council of State said after rejecting the healthcare worker’s appeal, Proto Thema reports.

On Thursday, the Greek government announced it would be giving healthcare workers who had been suspended a second chance to get the first shot of the coronavirus vaccine.

Greek Health Minister Thanos Plevris said: “Mandatory vaccination for the workers of the NHS (National Health System) was legislated to help to safeguard public health.”

“Since we do not intend to punish [people], we will introduce an amendment,” Plevris added.

The amendment will allow healthcare workers to return to work if they take the first vaccine dose in the coming days.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, hundreds of healthcare workers staged a five-hour protest in Athens and other Greek cities.

According to a labour union official, as many as 10,000 hospital workers could face suspension for not taking the vaccine, which could impact the ability of hospitals to keep up with incoming patients and give adequate, timely treatment.

Mandatory vaccinations for healthcare workers have also been proposed and rolled out in other European countries, such as France, where some healthcare workers also expressed hesitancy.

Charity Boss Helping Afghans Settle in UK Is Taliban Loyalist, Backed Killing U.S. Soldiers: Report

The Chairman of the Scottish Afghan Society, a registered charity helping Afghan evacuees to settle into their new homes, is a Taliban loyalist who previously called for the deaths of American soldiers, according to reports.

Speaking to Sky News on the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, Waheed Totakhyl declared: “For a long time, Afghan people have been waiting for this day. This is the day of independent Afghanistan, it’s freedom for everyone. Afghanistan is a nice and good place. Afghanistan is safer than Europe now.”

Totakhyl, who was pictured with Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland and leader of the left-separatist Scottish National Party (SNP), as recently as 2018, is reported by the broadcaster as having boasted that his brother is a Taliban commander in Kabul, and to have “publicly called for the death of American soldiers in Afghanistan during a protest at the U.S. consulate in Edinburgh” in 2010.

On the question of why so many people were crowding into Kabul airport and trying to cling to the outside of cargo planes to escape the city if the situation in Afghanistan is so safe and positive, he suggested some locals had been taken in by Western media suggesting the airlift offered a quick route to an easier life: “Hundreds — 200 or 500 people — they listened to the American and Canada news, they said ‘we take 30,000 Afghans to Canada’ and they said ‘Oh’ and they went to the airport,” he suggested.

Sky News spoke to some evacuees unhappy with the fact that a declared Taliban loyalist was a point of contact for people ostensibly fleeing the Taliban.

“I’m not happy with this and I’m very disappointed,” said one new arrival, a former interpreter for the British Army named as ‘Abdul’.

“There has to be action taken, the government should investigate,” he said.

“If it’s right that [Totakhyl’s] brother is a commander of Taliban or supports Taliban, he needs to be deported,” suggesting that it made no sense for the charity boss to be “helping support the refugees and… helping support Taliban.”

‘Abdul’ said that the Taliban had already killed his brother and cousin, and that his remaining family in Afghanistan were now “hiding in caves”.

Totakhyl, however, insisted that “Afghans died, 170,000 in the 20 years that America, NATO and Britain occupied Afghanistan… The Taliban started defending Afghanistan and what they’re showing now is they were right.”

“We request the Afghans to stand with the new government to make a new Afghanistan, (peaceful) Afghanistan,” he added.

Biden Builds Another Migrant Detention Center near Border in Texas

The Border Patrol announced it will begin construction of another soft-sided migrant detention facility in response to the continuing surge of illegal border crossings. The facility in Laredo, Texas, like others recently constructed along the state’s border with Mexico, will accommodate 500 migrants and will be completed in late September.

The facility will be similar in appearance to other facilities constructed in Eagle Pass and Donna, Texas, earlier this year. The new facility will assist the agency in accommodating the influx of migrants that forced the agency to resort to outdoor detention recently as existing facilities face issues of overcrowding. According to Border Patrol officials, the facility will hire and employ contract medical, security, cleaning, and care staff for the migrants being housed.

The Border Patrol estimates more than 500 jobs will be needed to support the facility and its operations. The detention and processing facility will provide cell space for sleeping, personal hygiene, dining, medical screening, and recreation. An identical facility in Eagle Pass Texas was completed in April. That facility, aside from construction costs, is estimated to cost taxpayers $6 million monthly to operate.

The Laredo processing and detention facility is one of many the Biden Administration constructed, re-opened, or leased for the purpose of addressing the surge of migrants who crossed the border in record numbers since January. As of July, the most recent numbers available, the Border Patrol has apprehended more than 1.2 million migrants crossing the southwest border — 73% of those entering in Texas.

The influx created difficulties for the Border Patrol in meeting its obligation to perform routine patrols along the border. This forced the agency to rely more on state and local law enforcement to perform those basic functions. A source within Border Patrol, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Breitbart Texas there are no agents at times assigned to patrol duties because of the massive increase in illegal crossings and the surge in the number of migrants requiring detention. The source says agents are only assigned to processing, transport, and highway checkpoint tasks.

Although the Laredo Sector ranks low among the nine southwest border sectors in migrant apprehensions, the sector geographically lies between the two busiest sectors — the Rio Grande and Del Rio Sectors. The facility will likely serve to absorb overflow from those two sectors.

Patients face being 'condemned to further pain and delays to treatment' if ministers fail to recognise the 'seismic' impact Covid has had on services, it is claimed.

The stark warning comes as the government finalises future NHS funding as part of its spending review, with a decision expected as soon as next week.

The NHS Confederation and NHS Providers, which represent NHS organisations, says patients are 'genuinely in peril' and the nation's health is dependent on the outcome.

Gains in cancer treatment and heart care in recent years could stall and advances in mental health services could slip backwards without the cash, they add.

The NHS waiting list in England already stands at a record 5.5million, with more than 300,000 waiting over a year for treatment.

This is expected to climb as millions of people who delayed or were unable to seek care during the pandemic come forward.

Operations, scans and appointments were cancelled as the NHS focused on treating Covid patients and many people were scared to attend hospital for fear of catching the virus.

The NHS Confederation and NHS Providers says the NHS now needs between £3.5billion and £4.5billion each year for the next three years to recover from this backlog.And they say a further £4billion to £5billion is needed each year to cover additional costs arising from the pandemic.

This includes buying more PPE, meeting rising demand from sicker patients, and hiring temporary staff to cover those who are unable to work due to sickness or self-isolation.

The funding should be in addition to the costs of delivering the Government's manifesto commitments of building 40 new hospitals and reforming social care, as well as meeting ongoing costs such as NHS Test and Trace and Covid vaccines, they add.

The costings are laid out in a new report by the two organisations, which is based on a survey of bosses at England's 213 hospital, mental health, community and ambulance trusts.

Counterterrorism expert says Palestinian ally of bin Laden unwittingly revealed 2002 plan to kill hundreds at nightclubs, enabling thwarting of attacks ‘at the last moment’

Al-Qaeda planned to carry out massive terrorist attacks on Israeli nightclubs in 2002 and was in the final stages of the plan, but was thwarted with the help of United States intelligence operatives, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation researcher has said.

Ali Soufan, who with other agents had monitored al-Qaeda for the FBI both before the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center in 2001 and afterward, told Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper on Friday that the details of the nightclub attacks plot had previously been blocked for publication by the Central Intelligence Agency and has only now been cleared for publication.

The counterterrorism expert said that the information on the plot was obtained during interrogations of a Palestinian al-Qaeda operative apprehended in Afghanistan.

Zayn al-Abidin Muhammad Husayn, also known as Abu Zubaydah, was a Palestinian al-Qaeda operative who was captured by the US in Pakistan in March 2002.

The US government says that he was an associate and longtime ally of Osama bin Laden.

Held at a secret CIA black site, Abu Zubaydah was interrogated by Soufan and revealed the Israel plot. Al-Qaeda estimated that the attacks — planned to happen simultaneously at several clubs — would have killed about 200 people

In comments published in Hebrew by Yedioth, Soufan recounted: “The first thing I said to him was ‘You’re so careful, such a professional, what mistake do you think you made that allowed us to capture you?’ Abu Zubaydah thought for a moment and said: ‘The answer is obvious. The Israelis are on to our contacts for the coming action.'”

Soufan said that this tipped off the Americans to “something we had no idea about — that they were planning a multi-site terror attack in Israel.”

The confession led the Americans to quickly notify several relevant intelligence organizations including those in Israel. A top commander leading the plan from Europe was arrested and the attacks were thwarted.

“Luckily we managed to stop them at the last moment,” he said.

Abu Zubaydah has been jailed in the American detention camp in Guantanamo Bay since 2006. His lawyers have alleged that he was repeatedly tortured by his interrogators after his capture, including numerous instances of waterboarding.

The dance club attack was not the only al-Qaeda plot targeting Israel. In the summer of 2001, Briton Richard Reid, later known as the “shoe bomber,” flew to Israel to try to find weaknesses in El Al’s security in preparation for a potential bombing of a flight.

However, he raised suspicions of Israeli security personnel and encountered rigorous checks, which led him to cancel the plan.

Reid eventually tried to detonate explosives in his shoe in December of that year on a trans-Atlantic flight from Paris to Miami, but was overpowered by passengers and flight attendants.

PA Dem Collected $110,000 Through Defunct Corporation

Susan Wild earned rental income through unlicensed LLC as she championed landlord relief fund

Rep. Susan Wild collected up to $110,000 in rental income through Casa Stimus, a corporation that lost its LLC status in 2016, according to Washington, D.C., business records. The city revoked the LLC's entity status just one year after Wild and her sister established the corporation, as it failed to file the "periodic reports" required by local law.

Under D.C. law, a revoked entity "shall be void and all powers conferred upon such entity are declared inoperative," meaning "entities in revoked status may not operate in the District until they are reinstated." Wild's congressional financial disclosures, however, show that she raked in substantial cash through the defunct company. Wild, who is listed as the registered agent of the defunct LLC, did not respond to a request for comment.

Wild pushed for taxpayer-funded relief for landlords as she benefited from the lucrative rental business. In March, the Democrat called federal assistance for landlords "a key part of our state recovery," but failed to acknowledge her status as a landlord in public remarks. She is not the only House Democrat to conceal such a conflict of interest amid a pandemic movement to cancel rent payments. Reps. Ayanna Pressley (D., Mass.) and Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) reported up to $65,000 in combined 2020 rental income at the same time they backed legislation that would eliminate rent and establish a "landlord relief fund."

Washington, D.C., law says "civil fines and penalties" may be imposed on an LLC that "does business in the District of Columbia," but "does not have a certificate of organization filed." The city did not return a request for comment about Wild's financial dealings.

According to local records, Wild inherited her D.C. property from her late mother in October 2015, one month before she established the LLC, which uses the property as its business address. Wild owns a 50 percent ownership stake in the real estate—which is valued at between $250,001 and $500,000 according to her latest financial disclosure. The home's appraised value is nearly $760,000, D.C. real estate records show.

Wild is expected to face a competitive reelection battle in the midterms after winning the state's Seventh Congressional District by just 3 points in November. Local business owner Lisa Scheller, who lost to Wild in 2020, has announced that she will seek the GOP's 2022 nomination.

Green Activist Tied To Top Dems Can’t Account For Millions Given To Her Bail Fund

Former collaborators accuse Squad ally of financial mismanagement

A prominent green activist with ties to top Democrats is dodging questions about her alleged mismanagement of a bail fund that cannot account for millions of dollars in contributions.

Tara Houska is the founding president of the Freshet Collective, which she established in Minnesota in 2016 to provide legal assistance for demonstrators arrested at the Dakota Access Pipeline protests. Houska, a lawyer, is a mainstay of Native American and environmental activism who advised Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I., Vt.) 2016 presidential campaign. She is slated to appear at a political event Saturday morning with members of the House's so-called Squad.

Freshet's financial situation is dodgy. The sole federal tax filing available from the group indicates that just a fraction of its assets were put toward its mission in its first year of operations. Five years past its founding, it has yet to register and submit audited financial statements to Minnesota authorities, which is required by state law. Indeed, it is not even clear that Freshet is still operational, making questions about its fiscal housekeeping all the more urgent. One-time collaborators have accused the group of dishonest dealing.

"These guys are dirty. They're raising millions of dollars, but they're not representing the people," said Duke Gomez-Schempp, a radio host and activist who assisted Freshet operations during the Dakota Access Pipeline protests.

According to a Freshet federal tax filing, the organization exists "to raise, manage, and disburse legal defense funds to support individuals arrested for their involvement in direct action as part of liberatory grassroots social movements." They began raising money on the crowdsourcing platform FundRazr in August 2016, promising to cover bail, fines, vehicle impoundment, and attorneys fees for defendants arrested at the pipeline protests.

The collective's FundRazr page shows more than $3 million raised from 54,000 contributors. That tracks the reported $3,037,359 in total revenue that appears on the only Freshet tax filing available to the public, an IRS Form 990.

According to that document, which is for the 2016-2017 fiscal year, Freshet spent $972,863, with its year-end balance running just over $2 million.

It's not clear what became of that $2 million. No subsequent 990s are available from the group, nor is it clear if those forms were even filed to the IRS. Freshet posted its last update to FundRazr in June 2017. And its thin digital presence has long since vanished. A Facebook page featuring Freshet hasn't been updated since 2018. And the domain name it once used for its website has since been taken over by a marketing firm with a similar name. Earlier iterations of the website are available via an internet archive.

Any monies Freshet posted for bail are likewise unaccounted for. Bail is returned provided that the defendant makes all required court appearances. According to the 990, the collective gave about $368,000 in grants to individuals—likely its bail spending—and reported another $309,000 in "legal" spending.

A former Freshet collaborator alleges that the collective exaggerated the extent of its operations. Speaking on a local radio program in 2019, Gomez-Schempp said he volunteered for Freshet's jail support program during the Dakota Access protests and assisted several dozen defendants.

"They were instructed [to] get a public defender," Gomez-Schempp said. "They weren't paying legal bills of anybody."

According to data kept by the Water Protector Legal Collective, a Freshet ally, there were 837 criminal cases related to the demonstrations. Just 68 cases went to trial. Of those, 26 ended in conviction and 42 ended in acquittal. Another 45 cases are inactive.

Morrison’s Bill to protect the secrets of National Cabinet

State premiers and health experts don't want the public to hear what they say about Covid behind closed doors.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has introduced a Bill to protect the secret discussions of state premiers within National Cabinet.

Minister for Education and Youth Alan Tudge, brought the COAG Legislation Amendment Bill 2021 on Morrison’s behalf last Thursday.

The Bill’s purpose is to extend the secrecy protections of Federal Cabinet to cover the contents of National Cabinet.

This comes after the embarrassing ruling from the Federal Court when Justice White determined that National Cabinet was not a real Cabinet and must open itself to Freedom of Information requests under the Freedom of Information Act 1978.

Tudge introduced his speech with the absurd claim that, “The Bill ushers in a new and exciting era for our federation.”

An era, one might point out to Tudge, that includes the prime minister, state premiers, and health experts deliberately concealing their decisions from the people of Australia.

“The National Cabinet process has removed the political boundaries that can hamper COAG,” said Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan, who has locked his state off from the rest of the nation and prevented citizens from returning to their homes.

Not only does the Bill prohibit requests for information, it buries the contents of National Cabinet as deep as possible in the recesses of the National Archives where it will never see the light of day.

“Scott Morrison is clearly a sore loser,” said Senator Rex Patrick, “but more importantly, he’s still trying to stifle public scrutiny of ‘National Cabinet’ decision making as well as many other dealings of Federal, state and territory governments.”

“The National Cabinet began from a realisation that if the Commonwealth, states and territories each tried to go their own way, Australia would fall short in its response to the pandemic,” said Tudge. “Like the Commonwealth Cabinet and its committees, the maintenance of confidentiality is essential to enable full and frank discussion between the representatives of all jurisdictions.”

As the police and premiers keep saying to the people of Australia who object to revealing their personal details, ‘what’s the problem if you’ve got nothing to hide?’

Tudge’s speech to parliament is not sufficient to explain why the contents of the National Cabinet deserve the protection of secrecy when their decisions have resulted in the largest infringements on civil, human, and constitutional rights in Australian history.

The same state premiers who demand an end to personal privacy from all Australians are demanding to keep their business permanently hidden from scrutiny.

Considering the decisions of National Cabinet are re-writing everything we thought we knew about the protections of Australian law, it is imperative that the premiers submit themselves to transparency in the form of full disclosure.

Why aren’t citizens allowed to be privy to the medical advice controlling their lives?

Morrison appears desperate to make sure the public never hear what has been said by the state premiers and health experts behind closed doors.

In what has become a worrying trend post-Covid, when the law finds the actions of a politician unlawful – politicians simply change the law.

“Australians have all witnessed—and benefited from—our federation and our policymaking institutions adapting to bring about unprecedented cooperation,” continued Tudge, ignoring the desperation, hardship, bullying, and ruin placed upon Australians.

The legislation has listed itself as ‘not a significant Bill’ because ‘significant Bills’ are likely to have wide engagement with human rights. This is a strange assessment given that the shadowy decisions of National Cabinet present the greatest impact on Human Rights in living memory.

Historically, it is never a good sign when politicians seek to hide the detail of their decisions from the people.

It is only natural for those same people to turn around wonder what it is their politicians are trying to hide.

Healthcare workers, thousands of Canadians protest in Vancouver against vaccine mandates and passports

The rally was organized by the Canadian Frontline Nurses and was one of many health freedom protests to take place across Canada at the same time.

Around 10,000 Canadians gathered in Vancouver on Sept. 1 to peacefully protest against mandated government COVID-19 injections and plans to implement a federal vaccine passport, otherwise known as a system to track, control and segregate.

The rally was organized by the Canadian Frontline Nurses, and was one of many health freedom protests to take place across Canada at the same time. Frontline healthcare workers and leaders from Vancouver's pro-freedom movement gave passionate speeches to the unified crowd. The politicization of COVID-19, and Canadians’ loss of bodily autonomy were primary topics of concern, along with the B.C. government’s plans to restrict many frontline medical staff from working various positions, and citizens from entering many businesses, based on their vaccination status.

“I, like so many others, have been abandoned by our union,” said Amanda Tengco. Tengco is a recreation therapist working in long-term care, who opposes the COVID-19 injection mandates for healthcare workers as well as vaccine passports. Tengco stated that she was verbally informed by her union, the PEA-HESU chapter, that the union could lose 25 to 43 per cent of its staff, due to provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry’s order that certain healthcare workers be fully vaccinated by October 12. There is already a staffing crisis in several medical fields. On August 30, that same union served a strike notice.

Vancouver Mayor Kennedy Stewart referred to the thousands of concerned Canadians who protested as “idiots” and “a bunch of jerks” in a CTV News report. The same report also incorrectly labeled the rally as a “anti-vaccine protest,” despite the protest being both advertised for, and attended by, fully vaccinated citizens. The same article failed to inform the public that the protest was peaceful, without incident, and both organized and attended by many frontline healthcare workers.

Biden’s Science Adviser Warns US Should Gear Up to Face Threats ‘Worse Than COVID’

The US administration unveiled a $65.3 billion plan on Friday to arm the nation against future, potentially catastrophic biological threats, whether naturally occurring or deliberately set in motion by adversaries.

US President Joe Biden’s top scientific adviser has acknowledged that the ongoing coronavirus health crisis has laid bare “fundamental issues” with America’s public health system that “go far beyond pandemic preparedness."

“The issues include the need to increase overall public health funding, strengthen the public health workforce, eliminate barriers to access, improve data systems, address disparities, improve communications, and improve coordination across federal, state, local, and Tribal authorities,” according to Eric Lander, Director of the Office of Science and Technology, speaking in a background call with reporters on Friday.

“Much better capabilities” will be required from the US in the face of future biological threats, he cautioned.

The geneticist underscored that as any next pandemic will likely be “substantially different” than COVID-19, the US government would be well advised to start preparing now for such an eventuality.

“We need better capabilities … because there’s a reasonable likelihood that another serious pandemic, that could be worse than Covid-19, will occur soon, possibly even within the next decade,” said the geneticist.

According to Lander, the current health crisis struck at a time when advances in both science and technology “made it possible to respond much more rapidly than ever before.”

“Had COVID-19 emerged five years ago, we would have had far fewer tools to do this. But, five years from now, we need to have much better capabilities,” he added.

Lander’s warnings came as he unveiled the White House officials’ pandemic preparedness funding plan. The Biden administration’s plan, contained in a 27-page document titled “American Pandemic Preparedness: Transforming Our Capabilities,” is organised into five “pillars,” addressing different parts of the public health system.

To get the plan off the ground, an initial $15 billion to $20 billion will be required, with the overall cost running into $65 billion over the next seven to 10 years.

In line with the ambitious plan, billions of dollars would be invested in improving vaccines, the public health infrastructure, upgrading personal protective equipment to safeguard against a swathe of pathogens.

Eric Lander urged Congress to allocate the sum in the budget reconciliation bill, scheduled to be debated this autumn.

“If major pandemics similar to COVID-19, costing the US roughly $16 trillion, occur at a frequency of every 20 years, the annualised economic impact on the US would be $800 billion per year. Even for somewhat milder pandemics, the annualised cost would likely exceed $500 billion,” said the document.

The plagues in Revelation are very similar to the plagues of Egypt as described in Exodus; many are the exact same. The main difference is that in Exodus the plagues afflicted the oppressive Egyptians while in Revelation the plagues are for all of humanity who are forced to take the mark of the beast.

Morning Star is another name for Venus, also known as LUCIFER.

The crisis was marked by several important stages:

1. Crisis in Air Travel and International Transport

The calling of a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC) by the WHO Director General on January 30th was instrumental in launching the coronal crisis. There were 83 positive cases outside China out of a population of 6.4 billion. There was no emergency: Ironically, the flawed and invalid RT-PCR test was used to estimate those 83 positive cases.

On the following day president Trump’s ordered the closing down of air travel with China which marked the onset of a crisis in International Air Travel and Transport which has extended its grip over a period of 18 months leading to the bankruptcy of airline companies Worldwide, the destruction of the tourist industry, a major crisis in commodity trade, etc. This was a deliberate act to précipitate the demise of Air Travel Worldwide. There were 5 positive cases in the US, which were used to justify Trump’s decision on January 31st, 2020.

1. The February Financial Crash on February 20, 2020

It was the most serious financial crisis in World history, far surpassing that of 1929. It occurred immediately following “warnings” by the WHO that a covid-19 pandemic was imminent, thereby spearheading the fear campaign. There was ample evidence of outright “conflict of interest” and fraud including foreknowledge, inside information, etc. which resulted in a massive concentration of money wealth by a handful of billionaires. That same day, millions of people Worldwide lost their lifelong savings. What was the justification for the WHO’s shock and awe statements. This imminent threat was based on 1078 (flawed) RT-PCR Covid positive cases outside China.

1. Barely three weeks later, the March 11, 2020 lockdown with 44,279 cases Worldwide outside China were used to justify home confinement, social distancing and the closure of economic activity Worldwide leading to poverty and mass unemployment.

The CDC encouraged testing for RSV among patients who tested negative for COVID-19 but had “acute respiratory illness” symptoms. They also advised health care personnel, child care providers and staff of long-term care facilities to stay home from work if they had respiratory symptoms, even if they test negative for COVID, as they might have RSV.

August 3, 2021, U.S. health officials reported that RSV had started to taper off by midsummer, but a resurgence is now seen, with a “record-breaking 563 new RSV cases” reported in the week before August 3.7

Private Afghanistan Evacuation Team Criticizes Biden Administration Officials Who ‘Did Absolutely Nothing’ To Help Girls Escape Taliban

Robert Stryk revealed the names exclusively to the Daily Caller News Foundation of the Biden administration officials he said failed to support his team’s private evacuation effort out of Afghanistan.

One of the emails was a “911” message, asking Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer for his help in getting 280 vulnerable girls to the airport. Finer had previously acknowledged the team’s effort to get Americans and Afghans out of the country.

“This was an unholy alliance between the United States government and the Taliban,” Stryk said. “These girls were left to fend for themselves.”

The Biden administration ignored several pleas for help from an American evacuation team in the waning days of the Afghanistan withdrawal, emails reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation show.

The team had contacted senior officials in the administration to help evacuate people from Afghanistan before the U.S. withdrawal, according to emails obtained by the DCNF. They were working to get Americans and vulnerable Afghans out of the country, but it was a difficult task to do alone, according to the team.

Robert Stryk, who earlier spoke with the DCNF about his frustrations with the administration before Aug. 31, said Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer failed to act on his team’s desperate pleas for help in getting hundreds of girls out of Afghanistan as the U.S. withdrawal deadline approached.

Stryk is the head of a Washington-based lobbying firm that was paid in 2017 by the government of Afghanistan for “US Government affairs and commercial sector advice. Executive Branch and Legislative Branch Engagement; Defense consultation; strategic advice pertaining to extremism/terrorism; and promotion of democracy and foreign direct investment.”

Stryk was emotional in an exclusive phone interview with the DCNF when he described a dire request his team made to Finer. The email was a “911” sent Aug. 28 asking Finer to help get 280 vulnerable girls to the airport. Finer had responded to an earlier message sent Aug. 16 from Stryk’s team about their efforts to get Americans and vulnerable Afghans out of Afghanistan.

“We initially reached out to the White House, myself and Former Congressman and Navy Seal Scott Taylor, and we were looking for somebody to help so we had reached out to Jake Sullivan, Finer. I literally called the White House and I was on hold with the switchboard,” Stryk said. “And we finally made contact with Finer, and, at the end of the day, Finer did absolutely nothing for us.”

He continued, “And then when it was really really needed, when our girls were at the Taliban checkpoint in Kabul, we sent a 911 email to Finer asking him for help and guidance and we were looking for anything, but we never received anything from the White House, none of our emails, our calls, text messages, ever resulted in any response back that would help anything.”

Finer had responded a few times, but his messages were “conciliatory,” and, when the critical email was sent about the girls, Finer failed to respond, Stryk explained.

“But when it came to actually doing something for these girls, we never got anything. And when it was getting critical… we emailed Finer and he never responded to us, we never heard anything back from him,” he said.

'Go straight to hell': Chip Roy delivers tongue-lashing to fellow Congress members after House panel backs requiring women to register for draft

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) blasted fellow Congress members, Democrats and Republicans, in a no-holds-barred harangue. Roy unleashed on his fellow lawmakers after the House Armed Services Committee approved an amendment that would require women to register for the military draft.

On Wednesday night, the House Armed Services Committee voted 35-24 to approve an amendment that would expand registration for the Selective Service System to women. The amendment, led by Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pa.), would remove references in the current law requiring a "male citizen" register for the Selective Service System and replace it with "citizen." Three Republicans voted with Democrats in supporting the amendment – Reps. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, Jack Bergman of Michigan, and Patrick Fallon of Texas.

The panel's approval of the amendment to require females to register for the draft did not sit well with Roy. The Texas Republican blasted the decision, and said that he didn't trust Congress "to do anything at all," let alone to draft his daughter.

"Message to Republicans & Democrats - including @HouseGOP & @SenateGOP colleagues, I do not trust you to do anything at all, much less say you will draft my daughter to 'non combat' roles," Roy began his Twitter diatribe.

"Why don't I trust you? Let's see. Maybe it's because you (both R&D) have amassed $30 trillion in debt and are blowing through trillions more all while giving lip service to 'balanced budgets' for decades," he continued.

Roy then attacked both political parties for not securing the U.S. southern border, which has affected his home state of Texas. "Fentanyl pouring into our communities… murders, rapes… dead migrants on ranches… all in the false name of compassion," he proclaimed in the lengthy Twitter thread.

Roy claimed fellow Congress members "politicized a virus," adding that Americans were supplied with "wildly varying propaganda about it's origins, the nature of it's communicability, the efficacy of your mandated measures in response including vaccines, and ignoring of treatments."

He then alleged that Congress "destroyed our healthcare system and made it impossible to get the doctor of our choice at a remotely affordable price all in the false name of 'coverage.'"

Roy mentioned how politicians kept Americans in Afghanistan for nearly 20 years, the longest war in U.S. history, and leaders failed to produce an end game to ensure victory. Roy delivered a tongue-lashing to President Joe Biden over his chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal, "All while our troops sacrificed, and we set the stage for a gutless President to surrender and empower our enemies."

The congressman was furious that critical race theory was given an opportunity to be taught in classrooms.

"Maybe its because you've funded education bureaucrat after education bureaucrat to teach our kids that American is evil and racist, to take God out of our schools, and otherwise make it impossible for parents to safely turn their children over to the schools," he tweeted on Thursday.

"Maybe it's because you've (both R&D) caused America, despite sitting on a vast reserve of energy supply, to render us less secure economically and less secure against our enemies to appease institutional investors and the Acela corridor cocktail circuit," Roy wrote.

"Now you - including likely 28 GOP House members voting for an NDAA last night to do so - want to draft my daughter and just 'trust you' not to put them into combat? All of DC - all of it - can go straight to hell," Roy concluded with the hashtag "DontDraftOurDaughters."

When a Twitter user proposed abolishing the military draft entirely, Roy sternly responded, "Abolish the draft if you want. But under no circumstances will you draft our wives and daughters. Total, complete, bulls***."

International ‘mockery’ and criticism of Australia is increasing

The “mockery” and criticism of Australia around the world is increasing amid the draconian measures put in place by the Australian government to combat the spread of COVID-19, says Sky News host Rita Panahi.

Ms Panahi highlighted articles in publications such as The Atlantic and The Times of London, which commented on the freedoms Australians had lost throughout the pandemic.

“Publications around the world which haven’t really paid much attention to Australia are wondering what sort of a dystopian nightmare we have turned into.

“We are not like the rest of the world. Australia and New Zealand stand alone in enforcing some of the most draconian restrictions on what are supposed to be free people.”
