At the height of his fame, former Two And A Half Men star Angus T. Jones abruptly quit the show. Since then, he has led a very different life.

“There’s no playing around when it comes to eternity. People will see us and be like, ‘I can be a Christian and be on a show like Two And A Half Men. You can’t. You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t.”

'American Taliban': CNN's Jim Acosta compares Tucker Carlson, GOP lawmakers to terrorist group

CNN anchor Jim Acosta attacked Republicans and singled-out Fox News host Tucker Carlson on his weekend show Saturday, comparing some Republican lawmakers to the Taliban and calling Carlson a "human manure spreader."

At the center of his criticism, Acosta blasted Republicans and Carlson for expressing concern about the influx of Afghan refugees into the U.S. Carlson, for example, has said "They're not all heroes. We don't know who they are," while Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), for example, has raised alarm about the refugee vetting process.

"Over on Fox, human manure spreader Tucker Carlson has floated yet another race-baiting conspiracy theory that tens of thousands of Afghan refugees are being welcomed into this country in order to change the outcome of future elections," Acosta said.

While delivering his anti-GOP monologue, CNN blared a chyron at the bottom of the screen that read, "It's the far-right, not Afghan refugees, posing a threat to democracy."

The duration of Acosta's monologue recycled tired anti-Republican insults, such as calling the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol an "insurrection" and alleging the Texas law banning abortion after the detection of a fetal heartbeat sends a "Handmaid's Tale vibe."

That's when Acosta likened some Republicans to an "American Taliban."

"Some members of the far-right in this country have apparently decided they will resort to intimidation, and in some cases, even violence to get what they want. And they could sweep in power faster than the experts thought possible. Sound familiar? Sort of like an American Taliban," Acosta said.

"It is starting to look like a combination of theocracy and thugocracy. The leaders of this 'Magaban' movement — people like Marjorie [Taylor Greene], Madison [Cawthorn], and Tucker — they're not counting on an intelligence failure or a lack of planning on your part; they're counting on a lack of courage to stand up for your rights in this country," he continued.

"The anti-immigration, anti-democratic, anti-women's rights forces have all sought these kinds of changes for years, even decades in this country. Their operation to change America forever is well underway. It's just changing in a way that they don't want you to see," Acosta added.

EU Foreign Policy Chief Condemns Seizure of Power in Guinea, Calls For President's Release

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has condemned the coup in Guinea calling on the rebels to release President Alpha Conde.

"I condemn the seizure of power by force in Guinea and call for the immediate release of President Alpha Conde. I invite all actors to act with respect for the rule of law, the interests of peace and for the well-being of the Guinean population," Borrell wrote on Twitter.

On Sunday, the Guinean authorities said that the presidential palace had been attacked by rebels, who said that they had captured the country’s president, Alpha Conde. The coup leader, Mamady Doumbouya, announced the dissolution of the government as well as the abrogation of the constitution and the closure of the border.

Later, Doumbouya said that the president was staying with the rebels in a safe location and had been examined by a doctor.

The rebels also declared a nationwide curfew in the country and said they were replacing local governors and prefects with soldiers. A meeting of Guinean cabinet ministers and other top officials will reportedly be convened by the rebels on Monday morning.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the African Union (AU) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) condemned the coup in Guinea on Sunday and demanded that the rebels release the country's president. ECOWAS has called for the restoration of constitutional order in Guinea and threatened the rebels with sanctions.

Incumbent President Alpha Conde won his controversial third term in office in last year's election in Guinea, following his decision to amend the constitution to allow himself the third consecutive presidential term. This sparked unrest in the country even though the constitution was changed through a national referendum.

Supporters of Guinea's rebellious military took to the streets of the capital of Conakry after the coup d'etat on Sunday, according to local media reports. People in the streets were chanting slogans praising the military.

Accused Rapist Yusef Salaam of ‘Central Park 5’ Fame Is Running for State Senate in New York

In case you don’t tknow the story behind the Central Park 5 Ann Coulter published an amazing piece on the brutal criminal attack in 2014.

Salaam’s claim to fame is being convicted of raping a white woman and beating her into a coma.

From the liberal Daily News:

Nearly 20 years after a judge vacated convictions against him and four of his buddies in one of the most sensational criminal justice cases in city history, Salaam has told associates that he is running to fill the seat being vacated by Harlem state Sen. Brian Benjamin (D), who was nominated last week to be New York’s next lieutenant governor.

The lieutenant governor is next in line to become governor; that’s how the godawful Kathy Hochul got her current job. Maybe if Salaam wins — and with his qualifications, he is likely to in Harlem — he will be next in line for lieutenant governor.

Late Libyan Leader's Son Saadi Gaddafi Freed From Prison - Report

During the NATO-backed revolt in 2011, Saadi Gaddafi fled to Niger, but was extradited to Libya in 2014 and has been imprisoned in Tripoli ever since.

Libyan authorities have released Saadi Gaddafi on Sunday, as per Reuters, citing sources in the country's government. He is the third son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, who was deposed and died during a 2011 uprising.

According to the report, Gaddafi promptly boarded a flight to Istanbul upon his release.

The sources reportedly claimed that Gaddafi's release was the outcome of negotiations with top tribal figures and Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibeh. According to another source, former Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha was also participating in the talks.

As stipulated in the report, Saadi Gaddafi was found not guilty of "murder, deception, threats, enslavement, and defamation of former player Bashir Rayani," by the nation's Justice Ministry in 2018.

In 2011, he was the head of Libya's Special Forces and was active in the Libyan Civil War. That year, he was placed on Interpol's wanted list, and allegedly tortured while in a Libyan prison after he was extradited back to the war-torn nation.

In the decade following the insurrection, Libya has experienced upheaval, division, and violence. In March 2021, the Government of National Unity was formed as part of a peace effort that included elections scheduled for December.

Earlier this week it was reported that Gaddafi's brother, Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi, decided to run in the nation's December presidential elections. Saif al-Islam himself has been a prisoner in the city of Zintan, Libya, and was released from prison in 2017 after being granted full amnesty.

After the overthrow and brutal assassination of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya ceased to function as a single state. In the past few years, there has been a confrontation between the Government of National Accord under Fayez al-Sarraj, who governed in Tripoli in the west of the country, and the authorities in the east of Libya, which were supported by the Libyan National Army under the command of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

In early February, the UN-sponsored Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Geneva elected a transitional executive power of Libya, which will rule the country until the general elections scheduled for December 24.
