I've been wanting to take a year off, sort through some personal losses and contemplate a worthwhile future. I think the company I work for actually makes money from what we do, so believe it or not, they seem to want to operate with healthy workers (except they do tell some folks to get tested, occasionally, which I will not do). I think I could last at least a year with no income, however.
I think a lot of companies don't really get revenue, income, or market cap from the sale of goods and/or services. I think this is why they can afford to kill and maim workers and just focus on decreasing pension and health care costs. In other cases I think they want to replace the workers with robots. This poses a conundrum I have not solved: What happens when the humanized robots go on strike and/or demand to be paid? Also, what happens when the "customers" are also robots?
