If Canada disappeared, most Americans wouldn't even notice. Let it go back to the woodlands that it used to be.

Northern Maine doesn't even have any roads that lead into Canada.

Since you are a victim of a drunk driver, I would be interested in your opinion of DUI laws.

I, personally, think that the DUI laws have gone "over the top" and become a money making scheme. But I have never been adversely affected by a drunk driver.

Same here. Cut my arm on a piece of a broken glass bowl. Dad put butterfly stitches on it. Still have the scar.

My parents weren't about to spend money that they didn't have on something that they could fix themselves.

>I am 100% against checkpoints, though.

Ditto.

Interdasting that cops don't sit outside of bars waiting to catch the DUI people. I was told, by a relative who is a retired cop, that is considered to be entrapment. Plus bar owner (liquor license holders) are connected politically and it would be bad for business if there were cops sitting outside at closing time.

Yes. Statistics lie.

A person could have had some alcohol and be involved in an accident, but not be the cause of the accident. But the person who was drinking can still get a DUI. That's fucked up.

When I was a teenager, in the 70s, we used to "go cruising"

Four of us would drive around with a 6 pack in a car and flirt with other "Cruisers"

If we got pulled over, the cops would confiscate our beer. That's it.

Sometimes they would keep the beer for themselves and sometimes they would pour it out.

Women are sneaky.

Knew a guy whose wife called the cops on him and said he was being violent towards her.

They lived in an unincorporated Chicago area, so Cook County cops showed up.

He got thrown into Cook County jail and got the shit beat out of him by the cops.

The interesting thing is that if no injury or property damage was caused, they really can only pull your driver's license. They call it "driving privileges" not driving rights.

If you don't want or need your driver's license back, there really is no penalty.

All of the expenses come in trying to get "driving privileges" back.

In the book The Grapes of Wrath, one of the character cut himself. He pissed into some dirt then took the mud and packed his wound with it to stop the bleeding.

The ammonia in the urine supposedly sterilized the dirt.

Yes.

The laws are becoming more and more ridiculous.

Big money maker for lawyers, courts, and psychologists, tow truck drivers and those places that put a "blowing device" on vehicles.

over-compensates HVSR, inducing an overestimation of pSBSR to ETF (Fig. 13c). However, this bias can be readily eliminated by considering the fluctuation of HVSR b with frequency, rather than a constant, in the correction procedure. Even so, pSBSR has a considerably less amount of bias and lower level of uncertainty than TTF Strata. 6.3.
