Amazing convo last bread about a growing earth and the fallacies of flat earth theory.

Thanks, anons. I have much to think about.

Imagine that I posted an image. Do you see tits?

>Health care is not equivalent to "health".

Agreed but that was not the question.

>Get government entirely out of meddling in health

Also agreed but what would take the government's place?

Capitalism is not the way and neither is socialism.

Well stated. For my part, I have never been hospitalized and have visited a doctor exactly once in four decades. My daughter has stayed out of hospitals and away from doctors since childhood. So it is quite probable that most doctor and hospital visits are due to paranoia (who goes to the doctor for the fucking flu?) and medical malpractice.

Much public education is needed to break the "health care" habit.

>there is so much ugly truth to it

The whole world has been telling the United States to wise up and join modernity.

Americans persist in worshipping capitalism even when it is provably not working.

I'm not advocating for socialism but just for a little, shall we say, moderation.

When I was a kid, I sliced my hand with a pocket knife. My dad drove home from work to put some hydrogen peroxide and bandages on it. That's it. I needed stitches but I guess he was being the farm boy that he grow up as. I still have the scars to prove it. Meh, if I were to cut myself today, I still would not run to a doctor. I would patch it up and live with it.

Hmm. That makes sense. I never visit those places or know anybody there so why would I care?

For that matter, I would not notice if Toronto disappeared. A pox on that town.

Still have a soft spot for Montreal since that is my birthplace, kek.

DUI laws piss me off. Back in the 80's or so when MADD started campaigning for drunk driving laws, this statistic got bandied around: 20% of fatal vehicle accidents involve a drunk driver. Notice that it doesn't say "caused by a drunk driver". What does it even mean? The stat can be restated this way: 80% of fatal vehicle accidents do NOT involve a drunk driver. Maybe those sober drivers should drink up. Yes, it's dishonest but statistics are like that.

Speaking of vets, most of them are quacks too. I had to go to the pet food store for advice on my dog's allergies because the vet couldn't figure it out. Dumb bastard told me that the dog would have to take the little white pills for the rest of his life. It wasn't the pills that cleared up his allergy for a week or so. It was the cans of Science Diet dog food that he supplied with the pills. I guess, even with vets, diet is the last thing they think of when there's a problem.

In 1980, I got stopped by the cops late at night after I had been drinking, smoking pot and having an allergic reaction to my friend's four cats. My eyes were bloodshot for sure. I tried to play it cool but the cop must have known my condition. He had the car towed because of a crack in the windshield. Got off easy. If that happened today, I would get the book thrown at me.

>Fuck their bullying

They want their payments. I had to go to the hospital when I was 18 due to a car accident. I should have died and I would have for sure if I had a seat belt on. Got driven to the hospital in the front seat of the ambulance (kek), waited for a while in the waiting room, got my arm stitched and then they tried to put me in a hospital bed. I got out of there as soon as the orderly left the room. What the fuck were they planning to do with me?

Ambulance company sent me a bill but I never paid it.

Impossible to gather statistics for that. Changes in vehicle technology coupled with an increase in driver paranoia would skew any attempt to collect proper stats. I'm sure there are stats out there but I wouldn't trust them.
