Following reports that Americans were being prevented from leaving Afghanistan by Taliban fighters, Secretary of State Antony Blinken maintained his insistence that the flights aren't being blocked and that his department is not to blame for any delay. Instead, Blinken blamed those seeking to flee Afghanistan for not having proper travel documents.

"It’s my understanding that the Taliban has not denied exit to anyone holding a valid document, but they have said that those without valid documents at this point can’t leave,” explained Blinken. “But because all of these people are grouped together, that’s meant that flights have not been allowed to go."

Given new funding and expanded authority, watchdog Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States is pursuing ‘non-notified transactions’

While CFIUS was strengthened during the Trump administration, the tough scrutiny on Chinese deals is seen as continuing under President Joe Biden

Last week, Magnachip Semiconductor was notified by the US Treasury Department that it had identified national security risks of the Delaware chip company’s proposed US$1.4 billion sale to Chinese private equity firm Wise Road Capital. Soon after that, the department would recommend US President Joe Biden block the deal.

Treasury’s outreach to Magnachip was the latest example of the new level of scrutiny US regulators are a pplying to Chinese acquisitions of American businesses. Instead of waiting for foreign buyers to submit transactions to be reviewed for any possible national security implications, they are investigating deals that were never filed with the government.

Active-duty airmen and Space Force guardians must be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus by Nov. 2 unless they have a valid exemption, Air Force officials have said.

Air Force reservists and Guardsmen have until Dec. 2 to meet the inoculation requirements, which were announced two weeks after Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered all troops to get the shot after the Food and Drug Administration approved the two-dose Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Aug. 23.

The obligation to meet the vaccination deadline will only be waived for service members who are granted medical or administrative exemptions, including for religious reasons, the statement said. Having an approved retirement or separation date will not lead to exemption if that is the sole reason cited by a service member.

'They were told to go back into the airport and hand everything in to the Taliban'

The U.S. State Department is responsible for grounding and deboarding several planes holding American citizens and Afghan nationals at the Mazar-i-Sharif airport, BlazeTV host Glenn Beck reported on-air during his radio show Tuesday.

What are the details?

The planes — which held at least 100 American citizens and 1,000 Afghan nationals — were chartered by Mercury One and The Nazarene Fund, a charity founded by Beck aimed at facilitating evacuations from Afghanistan amid the U.S. military's withdrawal and the Taliban's takeover of the country.

Over the weekend, news broke that multiple planes had been prevented from taking off after the Taliban refused to grant permission for the departure. But according to Beck, it wasn't the Taliban that initially stopped the planes from exiting the country.

Rather, it was the State Department that refused to grant landing clearance to the planes, preventing them from departing. The department allegedly called off the flights at the last minute, declining to approve the manifest. He added that U.S. officials went on to hand over the manifest to the Taliban.

"This was like the State Department sending up flares, saying [to the Taliban], 'Hey, look over here,'" he added later.

Biden Administration Might Revive the Muslim Brotherhood

POSTED ON DECEMBER 28, 2020 BY DRLAMBA

There are several reports confirming the Muslim Brotherhood’s support for Biden so that the organization would be able to avoid restrictions on political Islamist movements.

Will a new US administration possibly under Joe Biden help revive the Muslim Brotherhood, which is considered a terrorist organization by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Syria? Why is the Muslim Brotherhood rejoicing over the “victory” of Biden?

Some Arabs say they are worried when they see the Muslim Brotherhood celebrating the results of the US presidential election. These Arabs fear that the Muslim Brotherhood, backed by Qatar and Turkey, is preparing to make a comeback under a potential Biden administration.

The Taliban Names FBI-wanted Terrorist, NYT Contributor as Acting Interior Minister

The FBI-wanted Sirajuddin Haqqan, head of the Haqqani network, a US-designated terror group, has been named acting interior minister, the Taliban said Tuesday in announcing its interim government.

The State Department is offering a $5 million reward for information directly leading to his arrest.

@ASBMilitary

Taliban just keeps trolling the US. FBI-Wanted “Sirajuddin Haqqan” is the new Interior minister of the interim government of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. FBI has a $5 million bounty for information about his whereabouts.

Last year, The New York Times came under fire for publishing an opinion piece by Haqqani titled, "What We, the Taliban, Want." Unlike the "controversial" NYT op-ed by Sen. Tom Cotton, which the editors said "should not have been published," and ought to have included "additional context," there was no similar addendum on Haqqani's piece or additional context to explain his terrorist background.
