According to Strong’s Concordance, the transliteration of the Hebrew word for mouth is “peh.” Peh is the 17th letter of the Hebrew alphabet, and as symbolic of the mouth, Peh represents the capacity for speech and self-expression.

The letter Peh spelled in full, Peh Heh, equals 85 through gematria and correlates with the tongue as an organ of speech. The sound “peh” is made by the air bursting forth from the mouth, and is thus related to the Opening of the

Mouth ceremony.
