The Navy had a program training SEALs in self-hypnosis. Not sure if the others services were doing so.
This was prior to JSOC.
Premise was, roll 48+ hours hard and break for 30-45 minutes, use the techniques taught, and then awaken fully rested and combat ready. It worked.
They were also looking at this technique for when you were injured. Slowing things down, ect. and how the mind interpreted these injuries.
Saw some of these techniques demonstrated in '91.
To some, it may be considered a form of "magic" or "witchcraft" I guess.
Fascinating stuff.
