Why do we accept income tax?

Why do we accept being molested at airports?

Why do we accept ….

blah blah blah

The essence of tyranny is coercion and coercion is essentially "do as i say or be punished".

"Pay us a portion of your income or be punished"

"Take this jab or be punished"

In principle these are identical so in my mind the amount of outrage generated by either should be equal.

Now my question is - why is some coercion ok but now suddenly it's a hot topic?

Could it be that most people don't actually care about freedom / tyranny much less recognize which one they are living in but instead care more about comfort and social prestige?

Fundamentally there are only two types of societies, freedom or tyranny, all of the usual -isms and whatever are just variations on a theme (coercion) not to mention convenient little packages to be sold by the propaganda apparatus.

I've been writing little rants like this for 15 years, no one listens or cares to deconstruct anything to find the basic principles on which things are based because it's too uncomfortable apparently.

You cannot have a society that uses coercion (of the innocent) to extract compliance and call it freedom no matter what justification is presented.
