I don't think that is why it's there. Found a study from a few years back describing the inclusion of GO in a vaccine with the idea that the single atom layer of GO forms a razor sharp edge that would physically damage the viral particles.
Thing is, it will physically slice up any tissue it comes across, especially vascular.
