Yahoo Names Tinder Top Boss as CEO

Yahoo on Friday named dating app Tinder’s boss Jim Lanzone as its chief executive officer, just days after Apollo Global Management Inc. completed its purchase of the online media company from Verizon Communications Inc.

Apollo on Sept. 1 closed its $5 billion acquisition of Verizon Media and renamed it Yahoo after Verizon’s iconic digital brand. AOL, TechCrunch, Makers, Ryot, and Flurry were some of the other brands under the Verizon Media umbrella.

Apollo is looking to grow offerings such as Yahoo Finance and Yahoo Sports through new business initiatives including subscriptions, while also focusing on advertising and e-commerce platforms.

Separately, Match Group Inc., the parent of Tinder, named Renate Nyborg as CEO of the dating app to replace Lanzone.

Nyborg, who served as Tinder’s general manager in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region.

Scott Kessler, analyst at investment research firm Third Bridge, said Lanzone makes a good fit for Yahoo, given his stint with CBS Interactive where he oversaw digital media brands and drove the development of the company’s streaming services, including CBS All Access.

“He’s done this before and even though the stakes are a lot higher, Apollo and other investors want to see value from it.”

Yahoo.com, which competes with more recent albeit bigger players including Google and Facebook, is among the top five most visited websites in the United States and among top 20 in the world, according to Alexa Internet, a web traffic analysis firm.

Lanzone replaces Guru Gowrappan, who led Verizon’s media business since 2018 and has now been named senior adviser to Apollo’s private equity business.

Ukrainian President Admits Probability of ‘Full-Scale War’ With Russia

An all-out war between Ukraine and Russia has not been ruled out amid increased tensions between the two nations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday.

Answering a question at the Yalta European Strategy (YES) forum on the possibility of full-scale war with Russia, Zelensky replied “yes, that could happen. That’s true.”

“It’s the worst thing that could happen, but unfortunately there is that possibility,” he added.

Zelinsky’s remarks come as Russia and ex-Soviet ally Belarus launched Zapad-2021 on Sept. 9—a large-scale strategic military drill involving tens of thousands of servicemen including those from Moscow-led defense bloc member Kazakhstan, as well as tanks, artillery, and aircraft. The exercises have alarmed Ukraine and some NATO nations.

Belarus’ Deputy Defense Minister Viktor Gulevich has previously responded to the concerns that the exercises carry no threat, “neither for the European community as a whole nor for any neighboring countries.”

The relations between the two countries have been broken as a result of an ongoing conflict that started in 2014, according to Zelensky. More than 14,000 people have been killed in the fighting since then.

“The attitude from Ukraine and Ukrainians to Russians after this [conflict] was broken. There are no relations,” the president said. “Who we are now? Partners or friends? We became enemies. That’s another shelf of relations. We turned from friends to enemies. Can you imagine this abyss, this distance? And how can we shorten it, how can we cope with it? No one knows. Only time can help.”

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said while commenting on Zelensky’s remarks about the possibility of a Russia-Ukraine war that the Kremlin wouldn’t want to indulge in “apocalyptic expectations,” news agency TASS reported.

“We would not like to indulge in some apocalyptic expectations,” Peskov said, adding that the Kremlin had reacted to such a statement by the Ukrainian president with regret.

Earlier this year, increasing ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine and a major Russian troop buildup near the border fueled fears by Kyiv and Western powers of renewed hostilities.

Amid the tug-of-war with Moscow, Ukraine has pushed strongly to be allowed to join NATO—a decision that would likely anger the Kremlin.

“Yes, I will say to you honestly that we didn’t get a direct position [from the United States] as for Ukraine entering NATO,” Zelensky said during Friday’s YES forum. “We are ready for NATO with our army level, with the level of our specialists first of all, with the reforms that we carry out.”

Judge Blocks Florida’s ‘Anti-Riot’ Law, Says it Violates First Amendment Rights

A federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked Florida’s new “anti-riot” law championed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, saying that it violates First Amendment rights.

U.S. District Judge Mark Walker on Thursday did not rule the entire statute likely violated the U.S. Constitution, but found that the state legislature’s new definition of the word “riot” was too vague and confusing to satisfy free-speech rights guaranteed under the First Amendment.

“If this court does not enjoin the statute’s enforcement, the lawless actions of a few rogue individuals could effectively criminalize the protected speech of hundreds, if not thousands, of law-abiding Floridians,” the Obama-appointed judge wrote in a 90 page ruling that included a three-page history of the civil rights movement in Florida dating back to 1956..

The so-called anti-riot measure, known as HB1, was signed into law by DeSantis on April 19. The Republican governor said at the time that it’s “the strongest anti-rioting, pro-law enforcement piece of legislation in the country.”

The law increases criminal penalties for assault, defacing monuments, and vandalizing public property during riots. Local governments that interfere with law enforcement trying to contain violent demonstrations will be penalized.

The bill changed the definition of what a “riot” is in the state of Florida. Under the law, a riot is defined as a violent public disturbance involving three or more people acting with a common intent that causes damage to public property or injuries—or can cause imminent injury or damage.

The law also creates a new second-degree felony—“aggravated riot”—for any riot involving more than 25 people and resulting in grievous bodily harm or more than $5,000 in property damage. It would also apply if participants use or threaten to use a deadly weapon, or block roadways by force or by the threat of force.

DeSantis said during the signing event in April that the left-wing cries of “defund the police” that echoed throughout Black Lives Matter demonstrations last year is an “insane theory” and is “not going to be allowed to ever carry the day in the state of Florida.”

Democrats and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) have said that the law is designed to intimidate Black Lives Matter and related protesters. The ACLU and several other groups sued the governor, state Attorney General Ashley Moody and others over the measure earlier this year.

Several Chinese Communist Party-backed influence groups have sponsored events and trips to China for U.S. officials – including Joe Biden’s Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack – as part of a broader crusade to increase collaboration between the two countries on agriculture and farming.

The unearthing of the United States Heartland China Association (USHCA) ties to Chinese foreign influence groups follow reports of Chinese Communist Party members and firms buying up American farmland, raising national security concerns among lawmakers.

Founded by former Democrat Governor of Missouri Bob Holden, the USHCA purports to be a “bipartisan organization committed to building stronger ties between USHCA Region (20 states located in the USA between the Great Lakes to the Gulf) and the People’s Republic of China.”

“Our focus will be on Trust Building efforts connecting government officials; business leaders; educational and community interests with like minded institutions between the Heartland Region and the People’s Republic of China,” the group’s mission statement euphemizes.

In addition to partnering with various branches of the Chinese regime, the USHCA also is “proudly working with” the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF).

The organization is an integral component of the Chinese Communist Party’s “United Front,” an effort that seeks to “co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of its ruling Chinese Communist Party” and “influence foreign governments to take actions or adopt positions supportive of Beijing’s preferred policies,” according to the U.S. government.

The USHCA has also co-hosted events alongside the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), regarded as the “public face” of the United Front and an “avowed arm of the party-state.” The U.S. State Department has described the group as seeking to “directly and malignly influence” U.S. state and local leaders.

Through USHCA’s partnerships with the National Governor’s Association and The United States Conference of Mayors, the aforementioned Chinese Communist Party-linked influence groups have courted several American representatives with sponsored speeches or travel. Joe Biden’s Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack has participated in events with the USHCA – which “celebrated” his appointment to Biden’s cabinet – as recently as May 2020.

Joe Biden: Republican Governors Do Not Care About Children’s Health

President Joe Biden reacted Friday to Republican governors blocking mask mandates in schools during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I am so disappointed that, particularly some Republican governors, have been so cavalier with the health of these kids,” Biden said.

The president visited a school in Washington, DC, on Friday to highlight his proposed efforts to get more students vaccinated and masked in schools.

Biden was clearly frustrated by Republican governors who continued fighting him.

“We’re playing for real here. This isn’t a game,” he said.

When asked about his message to Republican governors who said they would take him to court over his latest vaccine mandate for employers, he replied, “Have at it.”

Nineteen Republican governors voiced their opposition to Biden’s new proposed mandate on Thursday, describing it as unconstitutional.

The president lamented politics were so divisive, expressing his hope children would not see the country through the current prism dividing the country.

“Politics doesn’t have to be this way,” he said, complaining it had become a “war” or a “bitter feud” in the country.

“It’s not who we are as a nation, and it’s not how we beat every other crisis in our history, we gotta come together,” he added.

Biden claimed that polling showed that masking and vaccine mandates were approved by the “vast majority of the American people.”

“They’re hard but necessary and we have to get them done,” he said.

Police Department Set To Have Zero Employees After Chief, All Officers Resign

A Missouri police department will have no employees within the next few weeks after all officers, the sergeant and police chief all resigned, according to local reports.

The Kimberling City Police Department will be left employee-less after the staff resigned, leaving all calls to the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, according to KY 3.

“Until then we will be answering all the calls in Kimberling City, we can’t enforce city ordinances, but any other calls we will be handling at this time,” Sheriff Doug Rader reportedly said.

Rader said “it will be a struggle to fill the police department back up with qualified officers” but that he hopes they can “start working on that soon,” according to the report.

Chief Craig Alexander and Officer Shaun McCafferty both resigned after accepting positions with Branson West Police Department, according to the report. Others resigned citing lack of qualified officers, pay, no police clerk and trying to better themselves.

Kimberling City Mayor Bob Fritz reportedly said the resignations were “unexpected” and “the short notice [was] disappointing,” but that the city will seek to hire new officers while addressing pay and benefits to retain new hires.

“We’re looking for officers, we’re looking for a new police chief and I think we’ll be fine,” Fritz said, according to the report.

“And like I told the city administrator, start setting up interviews and everything too,” Fritz said, according to Ozarks First. “I think we can have this taken care of this, I’m hoping in the next few weeks or so.”

A survey from the Police Executive Research Forum found there has been a 45% increase in retirement and a roughly 20% increase in resignations from officers between 2020-2021 when compared the previous year.

Personal Carbon Allowances – Your Next Stop on the Road to Global Tyranny

If you haven’t yet had enough creeping authoritarianism, stolen freedoms and encroaching One World Government tyranny, you are just going to LOVE Personal Carbon Allowances.

Personal Carbon Allowances (PCAs) may be just the thing we need for our new ‘sustainable’ future as we emerge from the COVID-19 crisis. Or so claims a paper published in Nature Sustainability.

A PCA is the 21st century equivalent of the ration cards that European households had to carry during the Second World War to make sure they didn’t consume more than their ‘fair’, state-allocated share of food, clothing and so on.

The paper explains that a PCA ‘mitigation policy’, first mooted in the 1990s, is ‘ripe for revisitation.’

This policy aims to link personal action with global carbon reduction goals. A PCA scheme would entail all adults receiving an equal, tradable carbon allowance that reduces over time in line with national targets. In its original design, the allowance could cover around 40% of energy-related carbon emissions in high-income countries, encompassing individuals’ carbon emissions relating to travel, space heating, water heating and electricity.

So far, so dreadful: as if it wasn’t bad enough that nearly one half of your daily consumption will be subject to rationing, the paper breezily says that your allowance will ‘reduce over time.’ In other words, the thin gruel that the state allows you at first will become ever more meagre. What’s more, the range of items on the rationing list will get bigger and bigger.

New, more ambitious PCA proposals include economy-wide emissions, encompassing food, services and consumption-related carbon emissions, for example.

But why, you might wonder, in such rationing necessary in the 21st century when we are not at war?

According to the paper, PCAs ‘could play a role in achieving ambitious climate mitigation targets’ and ‘could be trialled in selected climate-conscious technologically advanced countries.’

Yes, no doubt they could. But the need for such unparalleled intrusion by the state into the lives of citizens in the free West rests on several heroic and unexamined assumptions: first that there is a climate crisis; second that unilateral action by ‘climate-conscious technologically advanced countries’ will make any difference if larger scale emitters like China and India continue to grow their energy economies; third, that this proposal has been submitted to cost-benefit analysis and found superior to other, less intrusive and authoritarian options like allowing economies to get richer and using the extra money to deal with any climate problems that might arise in the future.

None of these subtle distinctions is properly addressed in the paper. That’s because it is the product of exactly the same mentality which gave us the World Economic Forum’s infamous ‘You’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy” video.

These people care nothing for your freedoms as an individual. They are collectivists who see your autonomy and your liberty as barriers that get in the way of the greater good.

Perhaps the most frightening aspect of the report is the chillingly dispassionate language in passages like this one:

…at the time of consideration in the United Kingdom, PCAs were considered a radical approach for mitigation. This is still true: PCAs have been described as radical in more recent literature. There are clear political risks in advocating for challenging or radical policies, particularly if they have never been implemented elsewhere and there is no previous policy experience to learn from. Aside from the United Kingdom’s early interest, no European country has expressed clear political interest in examining, let alone adopting, PCAs.

UK: Evacuated Afghan Special Forces Commando Arrested by British Police in Dawn Raid

A former Afghan special forces commando airlifted to Britain has been arrested in a dawn raid on a Manchester quarantine hotel, according to reports.

The unnamed man, who was airlifted out of Kabul along with thousands of other Afghans, was arrested “on or around 31 August or 1 September” and is still in detention, according to Sky News.

It is unclear whether or not he has been charged with a crime, but British police can normally hold an arrestee suspected of a serious crime for up to 96 hours without charging them with an offence.

Anti-terror legislation does allow for detention up to 14 days, however, if the arrestee is suspected of relevant offences.

Both the Ministry of Defence and the Home Office — the Priti Patel-led government department with broad responsibility for border control, policing, and national security — have so far refused to comment, with a spokesman for Boris Johnson’s government insisting that “We don’t comment on individual cases”.

Previously, it was being reported that the Johnson administration was considering creating a British Army regiment comprised of former Afghan special forces, modelled on the Nepalese Gurkhas — despite the Western-backed Afghan military having been plagued by a long history of insider attacks.

It has previously been revealed that at least one Kabul airlift evacuee was later discovered to have been on Britain’s “no-fly” list, although the Home Office claims he has now been deemed no lo longer a threat.

Sweden has confirmed that some of the Afghans they have brought to their country have turned out to be people previously deported from it for serious crimes, with Germany’s interior minister also admitting that around 20 “high-caliber criminals” including convicted rapists and people considered “relevant to security” were among their share of evacuees.

Breitbart London has asked the Home Office to confirm exactly how many Afghan evacuees have been discovered to have forged papers, be on no-entry lists, or be previous deportees, via both their press office and Freedom of Information requests, but it still waiting for an answer as of the time of publication.

If this testimony of attempted (and successfully executed) forced vaccination of 18 year olds in the middle of the night at an army base is true, it just adds to the bewildering, horribly ironic situation of Israeli elites using their own people as medical guinea pigs. Fortunately, the girl in question was not vaccinated because she fought back hard. At least we can say that they didn’t ultimately force her 100%. Pelosi deserves $200M for San Francisco park, Dem says: ‘She does more for America' than others in Congress

House Republicans tried in vain Thursday to block a proposed $200 million allotment for improvements to a national park in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco district.

The money would be part of a $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill currently being debated on Capitol Hill.

GOP lawmakers proposed a half-dozen amendments to divert the $200 million to other needs but each Republican proposal was defeated by the Democrat-majority House, the Washington Times reported.

One Democrat, U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee, defended the allocation for the Presidio, the 1,500-acre park and golf course near the Golden Gate Bridge, claiming Pelosi deserves the money for her hometown because of the hard work she undertakes as speaker, the report said.

Yandex is battling the largest DDoS in Russian Internet history

Russian internet giant Yandex has been targeted in a massive distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack that started last week and reportedly continues this week.

A report in Russian media says that the assault is the largest in the short history of the Russian internet, the RuNet, and that it was confirmed by a U.S.-based company.

RuNet is the Russian segment of the internet, created to function independently of the worldwide web. Its purpose is to maintain the unified country-wide communication infrastructure running in case of a cyber attack from a foreign adversary.

Services and data not impacted

According to Russian-language publication Vedomosti citing Yandex sources, the flux of attack data started to hit the company’s servers over the weekend.

A source for the publication said that Yandex had a hard time defending against the assault that carries into this week.

There are no details about the type of DDoS or its size but the Russian publication is saying that Cloudflare web infrastructure security company confirmed the “record scale of the cyberattack.”

To note, Yandex in partnership with Qrator Labs provides its customers a DDoS protection service for cloud resources.

Vedomosti says that its sources declined to provide more information on the attack because of an ongoing internal audit, but noted that the incident represents “a threat to infrastructure on a national scale.”

The Russian publication says that a Yandex spokesperson confirmed the DDoS attack and that the company’s network infrastructure managed to filter the unwanted requests, resulting in no impact on provided services or user data.

New botnet on the horizon

DDoS attacks are carried out by botnets, large collections of compromised internet-connected devices receiving commands from an administrator.

According to Alexander Lyamin, the CEO of Qrator Labs, quoted by Vedomosti, Yandex appears to have been targeted by a new botnet that harnesses the power of network equipment from a vendor in the Baltic region.

Yandex has yet to confirm this information, though. BleepingComputer has emailed both Yandex and Cloudflare for details about this attack and is currently awaiting a reply.

Two of the largest DDoS attacks publicly reported are a 2.3Tbps detected by Amazon Web Services Shield in the first quarter of 2020 and a 17 million requests per second assault mitigated by Cloudflare in July this year.

Update: Following the publication of this article, joint research from DDoS mitigation company Qrator Labs and Yandex revealed more details about the attack, naming a new botnet called Meris as the origin of the attack.

CDC: Unvaccinated 11 times more likely to die from COVID-19

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced results from a study Friday that found unvaccinated individuals were 11 times more likely to die from COVID-19 than fully vaccinated people.

The research, spanning more than 600,000 people in 13 jurisdictions, also determined that unvaccinated populations were over 10 times more likely to be hospitalized — figures that underscore COVID-19 vaccines protect recipients from deaths and hospitalizations.

The study also showed that unvaccinated people were 4 1/2 times more likely to contract COVID-19 than the fully vaccinated.

The studies come just one day after President Biden announced a new rule that would require private companies with 100 employees or more to mandate vaccinations or frequent coronavirus testing.

The Biden administration as a whole has pushed for the use of vaccines as the best way to combat the pandemic.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky on Friday made the case for vaccines yet again, citing the study along with two others and stating that COVID-19 shots still work to protect recipients from the worst of the disease amid the rampant spread of the delta variant.

“As we have shown study after study, vaccination works,” Walensky said during the briefing. “CDC will continue to do all we can do to increase vaccination rates across the country by working with local communities and trusted messengers and providing vaccine confidence consults to make sure that people have the information they need to make an informed decision.”

“The bottom line is this: We have the scientific tools we need to turn the corner on this pandemic,” Walensky said. “Vaccination works and will protect us from the severe complications of COVID-19. It will protect our children and allow them to stay in school for safe in-person learning.”

The agency and Biden administration are promoting the data behind the vaccine effectiveness in their bolstered push to get the unvaccinated shots.

The U.S. has made progress with vaccinations, reaching 75 percent of adults who have had at least one dose earlier this week.

But the portion of unvaccinated people continues to affect the U.S.'s trajectory in the pandemic, with the unvaccinated making up almost all of the growing hospitalizations and deaths.

The other two studies in the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) released Friday focused on the vaccine's effectiveness against hospitalization.

One involving five Veterans Affairs Medical Centers found the mRNA vaccines’ overall effectiveness against hospitalization reached 86.8 percent.

With the fall of Kabul into the hands of the Taliban just shy of the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, the world’s attention has once again turned to Afghanistan.

Tucked away in south-central Asia, with unsavory neighbors such as Iran to the west and Pakistan to the east, the landlocked country, which once served as a base of operations for al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden, is as beguiling as it is complex.

And yet amid its turbulent past, in which it has served as a flashpoint for the British Empire, the Soviet Union and now the United States, Afghanistan has long been home to one of the more intriguing unsolved mysteries of Jewish history: the fate of some of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel.

Periodically over the past two decades, newspaper headlines have raised the tantalizing question of whether the Pashtun tribes who make up most of the Taliban are in fact our long-lost relatives, descendants of the Israelites who were cast into exile by the Assyrian empire more than 2,700 years ago.

While the possibility of such a connection may strike some as fanciful, a cursory look at the evidence suggests that it cannot and should not be dismissed out of hand.

The Pashtuns, or Pathans, are said to number in the tens of millions, with the bulk living in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India. They consist of several hundred clans and tribes that have fiercely preserved their heritage amid waves of foreign conquest and occupation.

Prior to the rise of Islamic fundamentalism in the region, many of the Pashtuns declared themselves to be what they referred to as Bani Israel (Sons of Israel), an oral tradition that their ancestors passed down through the generations.

This was noted by various Islamic travelers and historians, stretching as far back as the 13th century, when there was hardly any advantage to be gained by asserting an ancient Israelite identity in Central Asia. Over the next 400 years, other Islamic scholars and writers noted the persistence of the tradition.

In the 19th century, a number of Westerners who visited the region became convinced that the Pashtuns were in fact descendants of the Israelites.

In his 1858 work, History of the Afghans, Joseph-Pierre Ferrier wrote that the chief of one of the main Pashtun tribes, the Yusefzai (Sons of Joseph), presented the Persian shah Nader Shah Afshar “with a Bible written in Hebrew and several other articles that had been used in their ancient worship and which they had preserved.”

Similarly, Major Henry W. Bellew, who served in the British colonial Indian army, in his 1861 work The Lost Tribes, wrote regarding the Pashtuns that, “The nomenclature of their tribes and districts, both in ancient geography, and at the present day, confirms this universal natural tradition. Lastly, we have the route of the Israelites from Media to Afghanistan and India marked by a series of intermediate stations bearing the names of several of the tribes and clearly indicating the stages of their long and arduous journey.”

More recently, the late president of Israel, Yitzchak Ben-Zvi, in his 1957 study about far-flung Jewish communities The Exiled and the Redeemed, devoted an entire chapter to “Afghan tribes and the traditions of their origin.”

Basing himself on scholarly research, as well as on interviews he conducted with numerous Afghani Jews who made aliyah in the 1950s, Ben-Zvi wrote, “The Afghan tribes, among whom the Jews have lived for generations, are Moslems who retain to this day their amazing tradition about their descent from the Ten Tribes.” While he cautiously notes that, “the evidence in our possession is, of course, insufficient for practical conclusions to be drawn therefrom,” he nonetheless correctly asserts, “The fact that this tradition, and no other, has persisted among these tribes is itself a weighty consideration.”

College Professor Killed In Recent Strike On Idlib Was Secret Official Of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (Photos)

Professor Noureddine Ghafir who was killed in the September 7 strikes on Syrian city of Idlib was secretly working as an official in al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

Ghafir held a PhD in accounting and finance. He was one of the very first founders of the HTS-run Idlib University and a lecturer in the International University for Science and Renaissance. His links to the terrorist group were unknown to the public before his death.

News sources in Greater Idlib and the Western-backed White Helmets civil defense organization reported the strikes that the killed Ghafir and three other people as an indiscriminate attack on civilians in Idlib city. The Syrian Arab Army was blamed for the strikes.

The truth surfaced soon after the strikes. Pro-government sources revealed that Ghafir was assassinated because he was a secret official of HTS. Photos released by opposition activists confirmed these claims.

In one of the photos Ghafir can be seen touring what appears to be frontline positions along with commanders and fighters of HTS’ Talha bin Obaid Allah Brigade.

The strikes which claimed the life of Ghafir were carried out with precision-guided munitions, reportedly Russian-made 2K25 Krasnopol laser-guided artillery rounds.

The assassination of Ghafir was a major blow to HTS and its secret network in Greater Idlib. The group was apparently recruiting highly-educated radicals in secret and using them to brighten up its image inside and outside the Syrian region.

Corruption – Australia’s Medicine Regulator BANS Doctors from prescribing Ivermectin to treat Covid-19

Australia’s medicines regulator has banned general practitioners from prescribing Ivermectin tablets to treat the alleged Covid-19 disease.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) stated in a press release that GP’s are now only able to prescribe Ivermectin for approved conditions including scabies and certain parasitic infections.

“These changes have been introduced because of concerns with the prescribing of oral Ivermectin for the claimed prevention or treatment of Covid-19,” the TGA said in a statement released Friday September 10th.

Ivermectin is a common drug used to treat parasites but evidence suggests it is successful at treating the alleged Covid-19 disease. The drug was widely used across India and seemed to be successful in reducing deaths per million people by a significant amount.

However, when India changed tack and introduced the Covid-19 vaccine, alleged Covid-19 deaths very quickly began to rise again.

The TGA said there had been a significant increase in the amount of Ivermectin prescriptions dispensed in recent months, claiming this has lead to shortages for those who need the medicine for scabies and parasite infections.

“There are a number of significant public health risks associated with taking Ivermectin in an attempt to prevent Covid-19 infection rather than getting vaccinated,” the TGA claimed.

Ivermectin is not approved for use for Covid-19 in Australia or in other developed countries in what is suspected to be due to corruption because the drug is so freely available at such a low cost, and this would hit the profits of Big Pharma who have produced an experimental Covid-19 injection that does not prevent infection or transmission of the alleged virus.

Its use by the general public for coronavirus is strongly discouraged by the National Covid-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce, the World Health Organisation and the US Food and Drug Administration for the above reason.

The TGA said it was acting on the advice of the Advisory Committee for Medicines Scheduling to introduce the new restrictions.

But it said certain specialists, including infectious disease physicians, dermatologists, gastroenterologists and hepatologists, will be permitted to prescribe Ivermectin for other “unapproved indications” if they “believe it is appropriate for a particular patient”.

European Ex-Health Commissioner to Face Bribery Charges

A former European Commissioner for Health is set to face criminal charges over a 60 million euro (US$71.1 million) bribery scandal that dates back to 2012, the Times of Malta reported Monday.

Maltese politician John Dalli is expected to appear before a court in Malta on Sept. 17 to face charges in connection with an effort by an aide to seek millions in bribes to help overturn an EU-wide ban on snus, a type of smokeless tobacco that originated in Scandinavia.

At the time, Dalli’s role as health commissioner included oversight of the EU’s tobacco regulation reform effort.

His assistant Silvio Zammit was charged in 2012 with trafficking in influence and participation in the bribe case, but the case has been continually postponed, to the point that a judge last year decided to close the case due to the long procedures.

Under pressure from the controversy, Dalli resigned as commissioner in October 2012, but has never faced any penalties. Zammit was charged in 2012 with trading in influence and complicity in the bribe case but the case has been repeatedly delayed, so much so that a court earlier this year ruled that Zammit’s rights had been violated by the lengthy proceedings.

Sweden’s Dagens Nyheter newspaper in 2017 revealed a recording of Zammit soliciting a €10 million ($11.82 million) bribe from a tobacco lobbyist.

While Zammit was charged for his criminal engagement in the tobacco scandal, Dalli has never faced any consequences except for quitting his post after the European Anti-Fraud Office’s (OLAF) investigation uncovered the bribery attempt.

Dalli told the Times of Malta that the current charges are part of an ongoing campaign against him mounted by Maltese Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa and former OLAF head Giovanni Kessler. Gafa was the case’s lead investigator in 2012, according to the newspaper.

“It is another fraud,” Dalli said.

Jason, 48, both of Alexandria, Kentucky, were charged with four counts of concealing, harboring, or shielding a person for commercial and private financial gain, and one count of conspiracy to conceal, harbor, or shield persons for commercial and private financial gain. The alleged offenses occurred between November 2014 and November 2017.

It was three words among thousands from the NSW chief health officer but it has led to headlines worldwide and sent conspiracy theorists into a spin.

Dr Kerry Chant said around 2500 words at Thursday’s New South Wales Covid-19 press conference. But it took just three of them for her to go global.

An innocent slip of the tongue from the state’s chief health officer has sent some corners of the internet into a spin, led to furious commentary by fringe commentators and pricked up the ears of conspiracy theorists everywhere.

It’s also led to articles appearing in newspapers around the world.

Those three short words were: “new world order”.

Dr Chant’s said them during Thursday’s mammoth press conference when Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced the state’s pathway to exiting some lockdown restrictions.

That will see pubs and retailers, among others, reopen the Monday after 70 per cent of the NSW population are double vaccinated. The milestone is expected to occur sometime in October.

A full 51 minutes into the exhaustive press conference, Dr Chant was asked if NSW will start listing casual contact locations again once the reopening occurs.

“We will be looking at what contact tracing looks like in the new world order,” she said.

And that was it. The uttering of the phrase “new world order” was confirmation from some that Covid-19 is all a very complex plot involving millions of people, including public servants, all dedicated to installing a nefarious totalitarian government.

Dr Chant’s comments made headlines worldwide from Britain to Canada and the US.

On Twitter, “new world order” became a top trending term in both Australia and the UK yesterday.

The social media firm even took to posting a statement about Dr Chant’s comments saying spurious new world order claims were “unfounded” and the “phrase is commonly used to describe times of change or cultural shift”. The clip has also appeared on far right social media site Gab.

British actor turned anti-Covid-19 restrictions campaigner Laurence Fox shared a clip of Dr Chant to his near 400,000 followers on Twitter.

Federal police have charged a South Australian woman for allegedly ordering fake police badges as part of preparations to overthrow the government.

Teresa Van Lieshout, 49, was arrested after police searched her home at Peterborough in the mid-north last month.

Police also seized 470 fake badges sent to an address in Cairns, which were dumped in a creek.

They allege Ms Van Lieshout was part of a group which discussed forming an alternative federal police force to arrest politicians and public servants, although police do not believe the group was capable of carrying out the acts.

"Queensland Joint Counter Terrorism Team investigators (JCTT) have not found an impending threat to community safety, and have yet to find any evidence the group had the ability to carry out acts they had discussed," the AFP said in a statement.

Ms Van Lieshout, a former teacher who has run as a right-wing political candidate in Western Australia, has been charged with impersonating a Commonwealth official and importing a prohibited import.

She faced court in Adelaide on Thursday and will next appear in October.

Perth man Marcus Jensen, 49, from the suburb of Tuart Hill, has already faced court charged with impersonating a Commonwealth official over his alleged involvement in the group.

Police became interested in the group after a video began circulating on social media showing a man holding a recruitment meeting for an alternative police force.

The man, who is falsely said to be AFP commissioner Reece Kershaw in the video's description, is heard discussing plans to train officers in order to arrest MPs and bureaucrats.

He calls Teresa Van Lieshout "the true governor-general" of Australia, a position Ms Van Lieshout allegedly claimed to have appointed herself to earlier this year, subsequently issuing "arrest warrants" for politicians and officials.

Ms Van Lieshout has a history of fiery and unusual political campaigns that have included posing in a bikini to launch her tilt for the West Australian seat of Vasse.

Police said more charges against other group members were possible.

"There is no evidence this group had the ability to carry out specific violent acts, but the Queensland JCTT, with other JCTTs around the country, will continue to investigate people with links to this group and will lay further charges if more criminal offences are identified," the AFP's Assistant Commissioner for Counter Terrorism, Scott Lee, said.

"Impersonating Commonwealth officials and the potential misuse of AFP badges is something we take very seriously, which is reflected in the ongoing investigation and the action taken today."
