Vanguard and Blackrock do NOT own stock majorities in most companies. They are often the top 2 INSTITUTIONAL SHAREHOLDERS, but you need to see how much of each individual companies stock is held by institutions. I watched that video with some Brit fellow telling us all about this. He showed the yahoo finance screens where he got his information. It was right there. He never talked about that aspect.
Let me give one example. I'll use Amazon. The % of Amazon stock owned by institutional shareholders was right around 57%. Blackrock and Vanguard were the top 2 owners of that 57% of the stock, neither of them owned anywhere near half of it.
