I don't know about ALARMING, but I have a New York Times Pictorial History of the World from 1922. It has lots of info about current events, sports, events of WWI, royalty, all kinds of things that happened over the previous 5-10 years worldwide.
Not ONE mention of the 1918 flu can be found in its 480 giant pages.
Weird.
