No, I absolutely HATED school and I was treated like I was stupid because I didn't do things "their way" and refused to do homework. I was put in lower classes which just made things worse because it bored me.
In 8th grade they tested me because I had not done anything that year, and I blew through the test which went through 12th grade. The school counselor told my mom there was no point in me being there. I went to high school freshman year which was no better so I didn't do any of it again. I never went back after that.
On my 18th birthday my sister asked if I would ever get my GED. I said sure. She said I had an appointment the next day. kek
Years later my wife talked me into going to college. That was totally different and I actually enjoyed it.
