3M to Comply with President Biden’s vaccine mandate for federal contractors

On Sept. 9, President Biden announced a broad COVID-19 vaccine mandate impacting federal employees, employees of large companies and federal contractors who do business with the U.S. government. As a large company and a federal contractor, 3M will be required to comply with these new legal requirements and mandate COVID-19 vaccination for all U.S. employees and contingent workers (CWs) who do not have a valid medical or religious exemption.

As a company, 3M works with the U.S. federal government in a number of areas and there is great value in this collaboration. To continue to enter and renew contracts, we will be required to comply with the mandate.Weekly testing among unvaccinated individuals will not be an option.

If you are not already fully vaccinated, we strongly urge you to get vaccinated as soon as possible. COVID-19 vaccinations are one of the most important steps you can take to help protect yourself and others. If you have questions, visit our COVID-19 vaccination site on 3M Go or contact the 3M Occupational Medicine team.

In the coming weeks, we expect to roll out avaccine verification process.More information will continue to be shared as details of the new legal requirements and 3M’s internal processes are finalized.

If I work in a state that has banned discrimination against unvaccinated employees can my employer that is based in another state force these mandates?

Unfortunately they did a voluntary survey about a month ago on who has been vaccinated, who was planning to get vaccinated and who will not get vaccinated. Only 20% of employees who responded, it was over 2000 employees, said they would not be planning to get vaxxed.

 

I will say that there are a lot of employees who did get the jab only because they work in hospitals that required them.

 

My primary effort will now be to submit a religious exemption and consult with Attorneys. I want to understand my options to file a human rights class action lawsuit.

Yeah. I am a remote worker. I do everything virtual at this point. So I am no risk to anyone! These mandates are pointless. I can’t get over Biden saying we must protect the vaccinated! WTF.

Agree. There are some valued top earners and directors they will lose. They have already started to lose good employees on the front lines. Company has a hiring freeze and is already having employee shortages in the manufacturing plants, logistics, support, sales.

Spouse anon has done that since anon lost job due to Covid destroying anons industry. If I can’t maintain similar level of pay we will lose our house and other future opportunities we had planned.

Think about the implications of this for people who are desperate to keep their jobs….it’s horrifying.

This is a human rights crisis
