DAO's (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations) have the potential to change the world. I highly recommend you look further into them. You create your own impenetrable ecosphere and issue your own currency to your employees backed by something of value, could be US Dollar FIAT or could be Bitcoin, but the point is, without the master key, you cannot be shut down or confiscated. Your assets are untouchable.

There is so much more that I am not currently knowledgeable enough to confidently comment upon but one thing I think worth mentioning as you try to understand DAO's is that Oracles exist that act as a link between crypto-assets and make them interchangable. So you can form ABC-Coin and issue it backed by something like Bitcoin and it will hold value to the receiver.
I'm working my way through a 16hr course on the subject.
Essentially, each DAO is incentivized to increase it's value, not by increasing the production, but by increasing the value of what is produced as each member gains when the value of the DAO increases against competition. This effects the employees of the DAO as well as they get paid in the coin issued by the DAO so they are also incentivized to produce a higher quality product as opposed to just more product.

Vitalik Buterin is working on a concept that will allow the individual to hold all their personal information online and issue any part or all to whomever they wish and retract any or all to whomever they wish.
For instance, you could issue just your medical history to a hospital while retaining all other information cryptographically unreadable to anyone but you.

Decentralization is outside of their reach. They would have to drop the power grid in order to stop it. Meaning they would have to cut themselves off of all communications, electricity, everything.

What they're trying to do is build things like XRP (Centralized Cryptocurrencies) and post up exchanges that can control it, but all that keeps happening is the cypherpunks keep staying 10 steps ahead. Nobody of any value will work for the big-banks regardless of the $$$ offered because the best cryptographers/cypherpunks are already enormously wealthy from Bitcoin.
