Is Wayfair Trafficking Children Via Overpriced Items?

The claim that Wayfair is trafficking children is based almost entirely on one person's confusion over an expensive cabinet.

About Jerome, Arizona

THE MINING YEARS

The mile high town of Jerome is built on the side of Cleopatra Hill and sits on what was once a huge deposit of copper, silver and gold. In the 1870’s mostly Irish immigrants were staking out claims in the Black Hills looking to strike it rich. Immigrants from around the world eagerly came to work for the mining companies between 1883-1953. The town became a melting-pot of different nationalities, all looking to earn a living for their families.

Jerome is rich in overlapping history of the Verde Valley and in its importance to the State of Arizona. We think you’ll agree that taking a historic tour with us is fascinating and fun!

THE GHOST TOWN YEARS

Plummeting copper prices caused the UVCC mine to be closed in 1953. The Little Daisy Mine/UVX closed in 1938. The towns population dropped to a mere 50-60 residents in the 1950’s. A far cry from 15,000 people in 1929. The vacant buildings and houses attracted artists from all over the country in the 1960’s and early 70’s. Mostly ‘Hippies’ from California and the West Coast, they succeeded in revitalizing the town, and turned it into the destination it is today.
