>completely empty for a week at one store

That doesn't necessarily mean coming food shortages. Stop trying to scare people!

I went shopping just last Tues and I couldn't believe how much food there was in the stores - stocked full!!

What you're seeing with Gatorade could be that they're changing the ingredients/recipe/labeling. That's what happens when they do that. All of a sudden you'll see the item disappear from shelves, then after a week or so they are back but with a slightly different label.

I noticed this with a few food items because I try and stay away from GMO food. For example, tomato paste. Normally, and for thousands of years, we've made tomato paste from just tomatoes. Now if you try and buy any tomato paste on the shelves, all the popular brands - EVEN THE 'ORGANIC' ONES! - all have CITRIC ACID added to them. That is made from gmo corn primarily, because it is cheapest. So, tomato paste, I noticed, had disappeared from the grocery store shelves for about a few weeks, then came back with CITRIC ACID!

I don't know what's in Gatorade, as I don't drink it, but it'll probably come back modified somehow.
