Saturday is the actual sabbath. It got changed to Sunday by the catholic church.

The ancient Hebrew calendar is a lunar calendar. They actually have two calendars, one for everyday use and one for religious use. There are times when multiple holidays coincide. If I remember right, at the time Jesus was crucified, it was also a year of Jubilee in which they doubled up on Sabbaths. Seven year intervals times seven equals seventy years or a total of 49 years. The following fiftieth year is a jubilee year.

The reason the catholic church cited Sunday as the sabbath is because of the passage in the bible that says he was crucified on the day before the passover Sabbath which would have been before sundown on Thursday, which means Sunday is the third day after that.

However, that presupposes that He was indeed crucified on Thursday, but it was a jubilee year and if I remember right, they actually had two Sabbaths, one for the jubilee and one that was the normal day. It has to do with how the days line up with the calendar.

"Because the conjunction of a new moon and the sighting of the first crescent of a new moon in Jerusalem is typically 16 to 40 hours later, the celebration of two Passovers on two different days in Israel was not uncommon. In fact, the national Passover usually occurred two days later than the Passover observed by conservative Jews.

For centuries after the resurrection of Jesus, Christians argued over the observance of Easter. Some Christians wanted to observe Easter on Nisan 16 the actual date that Jesus arose. Others, especially Roman Christians, wanted to observe Easter on the Sunday that followed Passover to commemorate the day of Christ's resurrection. Finally, the emperor Constantine decided to end the controversy by disconnecting the time of Easter from the Jewish Passover."

16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
