I don't that at the TIME they were intended to be a "dog and pony show", however, considering that abject failure of absolutely every governing body of every level of authority across the globe to prosecute and penalize abusers of human rights, it seems that the trials were ultimately reduced to being a "dog and pony show".
Right on about the drugs vs. guns mortality rates. I'm just not sure why wanting to expand a not great thing to include even more people is at all a good idea.

I've always like that about the Catholic Church. You can be almost anywhere in the world and the prayers are the same. It creates cohesion and familiarity, imo.
