How can we have red flag laws targeting otherwise law abiding firearms owners but not have red flag laws for homeless drug addicts, most (if not all) of which have criminal records and self destructive behavior.

Where I'm going with this is why can't anyone drop a dime and get a homeless person raided, his drugs taken away and detained for a mental health evaluation like they do to innocent gun owners?

Class action anyone?

>What?

Far more people are killed by drugs than guns, most of them suicide by overdose. Suicide is the principle reason for red flag laws. The justification for a red flag law being applied to a druggy is far more reasonable than applying it to an otherwise innocent gun owner.

>not sure why wanting to expand a not great thing

You have that part right. This isn't about expanding it to another class of person, it's about exposing the blatant discrimination against gun owners. Druggies are a protected class to liberals, we can take that away from them and force them to rescind the unconstitutional (by any measure) red flag laws.
