Mary is a tough thing for non-Catholics to understand. Catholics don't worship Mary. She holds a position of honor in Heaven because she is Jesus' Mother. With that, Catholics, Copts, Byzantines, Marionites, Orthodox, etc. believe, just like the angels, she will protect us, pray for us, and intercede for us, just like when you pray for your children or friends. When you pray the Apostles Creed, and say "the communion of saints" it means that we are still in communion with all Christians and saints in Heaven, for all time. We are the Church Militant, and they are the Church Triumphant, because they are now in Heaven, but we are all part of the Church. They can pray for us. This is what Catholics believe.
