Why would wolves evolve when they faced no changes? Domesticating dogs was evolution by changing their mode of survival and selective breeding. Like Koi. Koi are just carp bred for color, they will evolve back to carp when back in the wild after a few generations. If all domestic dogs were released to the wild, the small ones all die, those most like wolves will survive.

>Wouldn’t this evolutionary changes be permanent and not be regressive upon changing the environment?

No, because there was a change in the first place FROM the change of environment. Therefore it follows that changing environments again will again cause evolving. But I see what you're saying. There's no proof God didn't create each animal individually. But we can witness microevolutions in our present time that cause theories on evolution. It's all speculation. No one was there. There's no sauce. Arguing for or against creation vs evolution is a circular argument that is faith-based on both sides. Ultimately, faith is personal. It's up to each of us to decide for ourselves.
