Ex-Navy Commander Gets Life In Prison For Child Sex Crimes

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A former U.S. Navy pilot who admitted to coercing a minor to engage in illicit sexual conduct and to distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography, all while actively serving in the U.S. Navy and following his retirement from active service, was sentenced Friday to life in federal prison.

Lieutenant Commander Ronald W. Zenga, 45, of Middletown, Rhode Island, pleaded guilty on November 19, 2020, to coercion of a minor, distribution of child pornography, receipt of child pornography, and possession of child pornography. He was sentenced today by U.S. District Court Chief Judge John J. McConnell, Jr., to life in federal prison and lifetime federal supervised release and pay restitution to the victim in the amount of $500,000.

“Cases involving the coercion and sexual exploitation of children are among the most heart-wrenching and disturbing cases that federal prosecutors confront. This case is particularly troubling because, as the prosecutor in this case stated in a court filing, ‘[Zenga] abused the most sacred trust a human being can be given, responsibility for the health and well-being of another living soul,’”noted acting United States Attorney Richard B. Myrus. “Thanks to the work of our dedicated law enforcement partners both here and abroad, this defendant has been held to account for his vile crimes. We hope that today’s result will provide some relief to the victim in knowing that the man who preyed upon her will be safely locked away.”

“Ronald Zenga committed heinous crimes and had the audacity to brag about his exploits online — hubris which ultimately led to his arrest. The abuse and exploitation of children is deeply cruel, violating the trust and safety of victims and generating trauma that may never fully heal. We hope that today’s sentence provides a measure of justice to those he harmed,” said Matthew Millhollin, Special Agent in Charge for the Homeland Security Investigations’ Boston Field Office. “Homeland Security Investigations is grateful to our international partners for their vigilance and assistance in this case.”

According to court documents and information provided to the court, in September 2018, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents in Providence received information from the Bedfordshire Police Department (BPD) in the United Kingdom that an individual, later identified as Zenga, was communicating with a BPD agent through a Russian file sharing website. The communications graphically described ongoing sexual encounters with a young minor child. Zenga described several years of sexual encounters with a child, dating back to the child’s prepubescent years.

On October 17, 2018, HSI agents and members of the Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Zenga and executed a court-authorized search of his Middletown residence. Forensic previews of Zenga’s electronic devices resulted in the discovery of emails and files of child pornography shared, received, and possessed by Zenga.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John P. McAdams.

Lawmakers Silent on Biden Solicitor General Nom’s Financial Conflict

Elizabeth Prelogar may have to recuse herself from landmark affirmative action case

President Joe Biden's pick to represent his administration before the Supreme Court was given a pass during her Tuesday confirmation hearing on a $10,000 payment that may require her to recuse herself from a landmark challenge to Harvard's affirmative action program.

The Washington Free Beacon reported in August that Harvard Law School paid solicitor general nominee Elizabeth Prelogar over $10,000 between 2019 and 2020 for teaching and unspecified consulting services, a transaction that seemingly necessitates her recusal from a landmark challenge to the university's affirmative action program now pending before the High Court. Prelogar has yet to address the apparent conflict in public, but lawmakers didn't press her about it Tuesday.

The High Court in June asked the Biden administration to weigh in on whether it should hear an appeal from Asian students who allege Harvard's race-conscious admissions practices are biased against them. The solicitor general's office will prepare that legal brief and is certain to participate in the case if the justices decide to hear it.

Biden issued an executive order on his first day in office that requires executive branch personnel to step back from matters involving former employers and clients for two years, effective the day of their appointment. According to a financial disclosure obtained by the Free Beacon, Prelogar taught and consulted at Harvard in 2019 and 2020, which means she is subject to the order's requirements. White House officials can waive the cooling-off period if they determine the public interest requires it.

Apart from the Harvard case, Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) pressed Prelogar about her decision to flip positions in the criminal sentencing case, Terry v. United States. The question in that case was whether the First Step Act made low-level crack cocaine offenders eligible for reduced sentences.

The Trump Justice Department argued that it did not. Prelogar switched sides at the last minute and backed the offenders. In an opinion for eight justices, Justice Clarence Thomas said the offenders weren't eligible for changed sentences, and he called the result a "straightforward" one. Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote separately to say that the law required the outcome, though she urged Congress to amend the statute.

Prelogar told Cotton she was not ordered to flip positions, but she declined to say whether she consulted with top Justice Department officials about the case. Some speculated that the reversal was the result of political pressure from the White House.

"I was the acting solicitor general at that time and I was responsible for all of our litigation positions," Prelogar said.

Cotton was one of just two Republicans who questioned Prelogar. Only a couple of senators stuck around for Prelogar's appearance, which immediately followed a confirmation hearing for two circuit court nominees, Beth Robinson and Jennifer Sung. Most senators left the chamber after the Robinson-Sung hearing, which was significantly more contentious.

The Biden administration is off to an uneven start in the Supreme Court. At Prelogar's direction, the Justice Department flipped its litigating position and blundered into a 9-0 defeat in a criminal sentencing case in June. And the Court in August rebuffed the department's attempts to maintain a moratorium on evictions and repeal the Trump-era "Remain in Mexico" policy for asylum seekers, though Prelogar had left the office by that time because of her nomination. She served as the acting solicitor general from January until early August, when she was officially nominated for the post. She's now on leave from the Justice Department pending confirmation.

If confirmed, Prelogar will set the administration's legal strategy for the coming Supreme Court term, which includes major cases on abortion, gun rights, and public funding for religious schools.

The US is turning oil-rich Nigeria into a proxy for its Africa wars

Under the cover of counterterrorism, AFRICOM is beefing up Nigeria’s military to ensure the free flow of oil to the West, and using the country as a proxy against China’s influence on the continent.

Last month, Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari wrote an op-ed in the Financial Times. It might as well have been written by the Pentagon. Buhari promoted Brand Nigeria, auctioning the country’s military services to Western powers, telling readers that Nigeria would lead Africa’s “war on terror” in exchange for foreign infrastructure investment. “Though some believe the war on terror [WOT] winds down with the US departure from Afghanistan,” he says, “the threat it was supposed to address burns fiercely on my continent.”

With Boko Haram and Islamic State operating in and near Nigeria, pushing a WOT narrative is easy. But counterterror means imperial intervention. So, why is the Pentagon really interested in Nigeria, a country with a GDP of around $430 billion – some $300 billion less than the Pentagon’s annual budget – a population with a 40 percent absolute poverty rate, and an infant mortality rate of 74 deaths per 1,000 live births, compared to 5.6 per 1,000 in the US?

A US Naval Postgraduate School doctoral thesis from over a decade ago offers a plausible explanation: the Gulf of Guinea, formed in part by Nigeria’s coastline, “has large deposits of hydrocarbons and other natural resources.” It added: “There is now a stiff international competition among industrialized nations including the United States, some European countries, China, Japan, and India.”

Since then, the US has been quietly transforming Nigeria’s police and military into a neo-colonial force that can support missions led by the US Africa Command (AFRICOM). Buhari’s offer makes US involvement in Nigeria appear as if Nigeria is asking for help, when in fact the stage is already set for AFRICOM.

The Pentagon’s broader aim is to stop China and Russia from gaining a foothold in the continent. In the meantime, it aims to crush any and all opposition groups that disrupt energy supplies so that oil giants can continue exploiting Nigeria’s resources.

A brief history of a complex country

It’s important to get an idea of Nigeria’s ethnic and regional complexities. The country’s 206 million people, nearly half of whom are Muslim and nearly half Christian, live north of the equator in West Africa. Their country has 36 states, seven of which are coastal. The country borders Cameroon in the east, Benin in the west, Chad in the northeast, and Niger in the north and northwest.

A US Strategic Studies Institute report from the mid-‘90s describes Nigeria as “an artificial state created according to colonial exigencies rather than ethnic coherence.” Its fragility explains the country’s susceptibility to ethnic, religious, and class warfare. The majority of Nigerian Muslims are Sunni, but Islam in the country spans the spectrum, from Sufism to Salafism. The Christian population is distributed among the Protestant majority as well as Anglicans, Baptists, Evangelicals, Catholics, Methodists, and Roman Catholics. Most of Nigeria’s Muslims live in the north in 12 states whose laws are based on sharia.

Google’s Moscow office raided by bailiffs looking to collect $400k in fines… but lawyers say they must go to US to get the money

The Moscow office of American tech giant Google was visited on Monday by bailiffs seeking to collect millions of rubles in fines issued by Russian courts for various violations of the country’s laws, it was revealed on Tuesday.

According to Telegram channel Mash, which obtained a video of the interaction, the bailiffs arrived at the office and were met by the receptionist, who was the only one there. She then called a lawyer, who told the officials that the building was the office of OOO Google – a Russian entity – rather than Google LLC, which is based in California.

The lawyer told the bailiffs to go to the US office to collect the fines.

“Regarding the documents, if it relates to OOO Google, which is registered in the Russian Federation, we as lawyers can accept them by proxy,” he explained. “If it concerns Google LLC, that company is in the US.”

OOO is the local equivalent of an LLC, a limited liability company.

The Russian courts have repeatedly fined Google large sums at the request of digital watchdog Roskomnadzor, based on accusations that the US tech giant has refused to remove banned information.

It has also been told to pay money for refusing to store Russian users’ data in the country, a legal requirement.

Overall, Google’s total amount of fines in Russia exceeds 32 million rubles ($439,000).

Google has, however, paid some of the money demanded by the authorities. Last month, Roskomnadzor revealed that the American company had coughed up 3.5 million rubles so far – about 10% of the amount owed to the Russian taxpayer.

Millions more Americans fell into poverty in 2020 as Covid-19 lockdowns wrecked the US economy, Census report shows

The percentage of Americans living in poverty rose from a record low last year, with 3.3 million additional people being impoverished as Covid-19 restrictions wiped out more than a decade’s worth of economic gains.

An estimated 11.4% of Americans, or around 37.2 million people, lived below the poverty line in 2020, up from 10.5% the previous year, the US Census Bureau said on Tuesday. Median household income dropped 2.9% to $67,521 a year, marking the first statistically significant decline since 2011.

US poverty had been trending downward for five straight years, including the first three years of President Donald Trump’s administration, and reached the lowest level in six decades of record-keeping in 2019. But those gains fell by the wayside as states shut down businesses in an attempt to slow the spread of Covid-19.

In just a four-week period in March and April of 2020, about 26 million Americans lost their jobs, exceeding the 22 million jobs that had been created since the economic collapse of 2007-2009. For all of last year, the number of full-time workers tumbled by about 13.7 million, the largest such decline on record, the Census Bureau said.

The average US poverty threshold for a family of four last year was a yearly income of $26,496. An estimated 14.8% of American families with children, or 5.6 million households, had food insecurity in 2020, up from 13.6% the previous year, according to the report.

However, the Census Bureau noted that when government handouts were factored in – including Covid-19 stimulus checks and supplemental unemployment benefits – fewer Americans were actually living in poverty. The so-called supplemental poverty measure (SPM) fell to 9.1% in 2020 from 11.7% in 2019.

In fact, the economy was so reliant on government checks last year that the SPM was lower than the official poverty rate for the first time in history. The SPM also includes necessary expenses – such as taxes, health insurance premiums and childcare costs – so it’s normally higher than the standard poverty measure.

With the federal government essentially paying millions of people to stay home in 2020, the US national debt ballooned to $19.6 trillion. Put another way, from the country’s founding through 2019, Washington accumulated $16.8 trillion in debt, but it took just one year to add another $2.8 trillion.

And now that the supplemental jobless benefits and stimulus checks have run out, the US economy remains 5.3 million jobs short of where it stood before the pandemic began.

A decade on from enactment of Obamacare, 28 million Americans had no health insurance coverage in 2020, the Census Bureau said. An estimated 91.4% of US residents had coverage for at least part of the year.

The Gateway Pundit reported that the California recall election is today and the Democrats are cheating six ways to Sunday.

It was reported that California Republicans were having issues at the polling booths. Many were even told they had already voted even though they had not.

Similar issues were discovered in the Maricopa County canvass, which found that ballots were cast for voters that did not vote (ghost votes), and many ballots were just not counted (lost votes).

MAGA U.S. Senate Candidate Blake Masters in Arizona shared this finding from California to Twitter.

Well what a surprise. All it takes to see how a mail-in voter voted in the CA recall is to shine a weak cellphone flashlight through the back of the envelope.

We’ll probably find all of these Republican votes in trash cans over the coming weeks.

The Democrats will not allow a free and fair recall, otherwise, Larry Elder would win.

This election needs to be audited along with California’s 2020 Presidential Election.

Haiti’s top prosecutor seeks charges against PM over president’s assassination

A Haitian prosecutor is seeking charges against PM Ariel Henry over an alleged link to the murder of late President Jovenel Moise. He has also asked for a restraining order to prevent the official from fleeing the country.

The high-profile accusations were levied by Haiti's chief public prosecutor, Bed-Ford Claude, on Tuesday. In a letter to a judge overseeing the probe into the July assassination of Moise, Claude said the PM spoke to the prime suspect twice on the night of the killing.

The suspect in question is a former Justice Ministry official who is now on the run. Henry had previously publicly defended the suspect.

“There are enough compromising elements … to prosecute Henry and ask for his outright indictment,” Claude wrote.

In a separate letter, Claude also reached out to the nation’s Customs Service, demanding an immediate restraining order be issued against the PM to prevent him from potentially fleeing Haiti. Henry should be “forbidden from leaving the national territory by air, sea, or road due to serious presumption relative to the assassination of the president,” the prosecutor wrote.

The PM’s office is yet to comment on this new twist in the Moise assassination saga. The late president was slain at his home on July 7 by a group of heavily armed assassins who stormed his residence. Moise’s wife was seriously injured in the attack.

The mercenary group allegedly primarily consisted of Colombians with military backgrounds, and included at least two Haitian Americans. Several mercenaries were slain by Haiti’s security forces in the wake of the assassination. While the majority of the group of suspects have been detained, a handful of the alleged assailants remain on the run.

The Indian Bar Association is charging WHO chief scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminathan with the mass murder of Indians. Dr. Swaminathan spoke against the use of Ivermectin in the Tamil Nadu province with the consequence that Ivermectin’s use was blocked and Covid cases skyrocketed with deaths increasing ten-fold.

In the provinces where Ivermectin was used—Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Goa— Covid cases declined sharply by 98%, 97%, 94%, and 86%. This success, which cleared large areas of India from Covid, was kept from you by the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, AMA, Biden, Schumer, Pelosi, and the rest of the criminals who control the narrative.

Acting for the Indian Bar Association, Dipali Ojha said the WHO official is accused of misconduct because she used her position as a public health official to further the agenda of special interests to maintain an Emergency Use Authorization for the lucrative vaccine industry.

Dipali Ojha further stated that the Indian Bar Association is bringing action under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code against Dr. Soumya Swaminathan and others, for murder of each person who died due to obstruction of treatment of Covid patients with Ivermectin. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the American Bar Association had the integrity and courage to bring charges against, or at least sue, Fauci, Walensky, FDA, NIH, CDC, the governor’s who criminally imposed lockdowns and harmful mask mandates, and the criminal medical organizations and associations that aided and abetted mass murder by blocking Ivermectin and HCQ and punished the doctors who saved lives by prescribing these totally safe medications.
