Enterprise was only used for gliding trials and never had cause to use it's engines. Enterprise may also have had no engines at all fitted under the fairing and it could have been concrete blocks for all we know.

It could be Colombia repainted as Enterprise, as the crew of Colombia have been spotted 'alive' in later photos.

Ah, OK, got ya. Thanks. I've not been to see the shuttles in the US, the only one I've see up close (sort of) was Enterprise when it came to the UK on the back of a 747 a long time ago.

Question; why does Endeavour have a 'U' in it, since most US spellings of this type omit the 'U'? I would have expected 'Endeavor'.

Did they use the British spelling as a tribute to Shackleton's ship?

Just curious.
