Q:What forms of Niacin & Melatonin should I buy?
A: Niacin: The ingredient list on the bottle should say Niacin or Nicotinic Acid. If the bottle says Niacinamide, Inositol Hexanicotinate, flush-free, delayed release, etc it is the wrong form and should not be used with this protocol
Melatonin: Try to get the pure form without any additives such as leucine or aloe vera. Instant release. Most brands should be fine, but avoid AllergyResearchGroup and Solaray due to additives. Ideally both should be powders, or powder removed from a capsule to speed absorption. Tablet or gummi forms may slow absorption and reduce effectiveness.
Q: Should I get a flush after taking Niacin?
A: No. If you have enough melatonin the niacin will be completely used up. If you flush, you didn't take enough melatonin. Take a bit more melatonin next dose. When there is no flush you've found the SWEET SPOT. Once you have the sweet spot ratio, you can up your dosage according to that ratio.
Q: Should I take the Melatonin and Niacin at the same time?
A: Take the melatonin 5-30 minutes before the niacin. Test to see what works best for you. You want the melatonin to be in place before the niacin is introduced so that you will not get a flush. Most folks hover around 15 mins.
Q: When should I take the co-factors?
A: Focus on that Sweet Spot first. Once you have that you can start adding cofactors. It is recommended that you start with NAC first. It can be mixed with your niacin dose.
