In 2006 the USA commissioned Rand to look at insurgencies and counterinsurgency tactics. Vietnam was a "counterinsurgency" on the part of the USA as was Afghanistan. There is a counterinsurgency tactic mentioned in the report calledDRAIN THE SWAMP…no shit.
From the Rand report the pentagon has developed two manuals for counterinsurgencies…the one I posted last week is outdated and this is the current manual. While this failed in Afghanistan it will succeed in stunning fashion here in the USA.
Our guys launched a counterinsurgency (COIN) operation against the infiltrating communists as early as 2012. This required coordination between military and civilian ((you)) operators.
